Sorry to create confusion I remember reading somewhere 12 or 15 clams... but its 15 clams to join in on a IWC race if you aren't a yachtie member. Got it the wrong way round sorry!

Just angling for a big turn out.....

All cool at this end.
A bigger turn out for one of longest running events in Vic would be great.

Yep, just complaining that at 3:30pm the seabreeze would probably only just be building.... just remembering back to last year, similar forecast and I came in between GP and Hampton! If they had only waited another 30-60 minutes to start the race....

Race briefing at 3:30 but the race itself will be when we think the wind is most likely the best strength and direction for the day

Is that you Joel?

Yes all competitors will need a life jacket.

Why don't you come into SHQ Joel - we can sort you out for booties, helmet, gloves and even boardies to wear over your wetsuit.

See you all Sunday for what promises to be another great SHQ windsurf event

Haha - yep its true Joel. I prefer it to windsurfing on 100 litre boards with 6m sails. But i haven't yet been brave enough to jack the boardies over my wettie...i did think about it!

Why is it that everything goes quiet just before an event?

Jerzy should have some really good pics of people coming back in. Sun was well placed, blue water, blue sky. It was hard being a spectator today.

What board/sail combos were people using?
Anyone like to share their max GPS speeds?

I was interested in knowing about other peoples gear also.

For me it was a 7.5m twin cam & 107 slalom board, 42cm venom. Max speed was for me was 25.02 knots and 22.44 10sec average.

Great race and conditions well done to the organisers ... I just couldnt get the 122 Futura to point high enough to make the mark on the first run out... had plenty of power from the severne 7.0 NCX though...
Top speed coming back was 43.14kms hr - not sure what that translates to in Knotts - anyone ??
