It's now more traditional than Poms getting sunburnt in 16c, Aussies whinging about losing the Ashes and Kiwi's whinging about the cost of a flight to Auckland, but its back on - the Inverloch Windsurfing Club's internationally renowned trip to visit our brothers at the 'Point' is confirmed. Stick Sunday 23rd May in your diaries - weather dependent.

Last year's jaunt saw Red and his crew turn the wind up throughout the day. Flat water, long runs and a view to die for - the World Heritage listed Alcoa Steel Works. Forget Maui, it doesn't get much better than this. Check out Drift's flick from last year - sure to whet the appetite of sailors of all abilities:

http://www.driftmedia.com.au/iwc/Video.html

For speed junkies, Old Salty and Red will devise some type of speed competition to add some spice to the day - but conditions are perfect for those who just want to putt about too.

Coffee/rigging location to follow

Flip - a bit of light ribbing I think - gotta take the rough with the smooth (just ask Rock Hudson ). Just wait till you get married - it gets much, much worse than this! See you at the Point on your trusty JP and don't forget the ramp.

Yep trip is still on. Waiting for forecast on Friday then we will confirm or deny what is happening. Location may change according to wind direction. I hear that there will be a bit of new equipment on display by the Inverloch boys

Ahh Red after 2 kids the wife sent me off for the lamb chop. I did not realise she was booking me in to become a eunuch
Jman - The sensai from the crewmasters tells me Swan Bay is the go on a NE so that is why the final launching location may change

Jerry,

Point Henry does work on a NE. You would sail directly of the point but in that direction there are better spots that MAY give stronger/cleaner winds..

IT IS ON
The forecast has not been looking good all weekend however we are seeing an improvement. The forecast is 10 - 15 kts NE in the A.M. with it freshening to 15 - 20 kts in the afternoon. We are changing the launch site to SWAN BAY RD SWAN BAY. At the east end of this Road is a Jetty(Crowie watch out). We will set up near there around 10 - 10.30 a.m. Breakfast/coffee for those interested 9.30 at Mc Donalds 150 Bellarine Hwy Newcomb.
Recommended to wear booties. No food facilities close to hand so bring food and drinks and there will be a couple of portable BBQ's available.

Like a moth to a flame...is it a big jetty? Someone's taking the piss and is obviously attaching a magnet to my board and the nearest pier!

Looking forward to catching up with everyone

besides the jetty, there are some mooring buoys - they make you stop real quick when your fin catches a line

Oh no OB,
Don't mention the mooring buoys to CROWIE..we've only just got him over the attraction of running full pelt into piers....now there's something else to tickle his fancy!!!

See you all there, any requests for the cheese platter??

I'm thinking I'd better make a double batch! I'll have to leave out the special Pit crew speed ingredient though!

I would just like to thank the IWC for making the long trip down even though the forecast was rubbish.
It was great to be able to catch up with everyone. Its just a shame that there wasnt any real wind to speak of. At least we all managed to get out.
