Hey Pat,
Good to catch up with everyone down there again. Geee Red gets gumpy when there is no wind
and what is it with that skittles game? Is he going senile?![]()
Jokes aside it was great to see around 14 + sails out on the water in sub planing conditions, Mick's new trailer and even my new harness scored a few comments. Peter's muffins where legendary of course and Mick's cheese platter is starting to get some acclaim also. The BBQ was not that great so if anyone dies of food poisoning blame the smelly silt we had to walk through to get out to the water.
We also need to talk with Mick and Simon about their technique - standing on the front of the board and lifting the fin out of the water is not the right way to go fast. And Red, sailing 2 boards at once does not make you go twice as fast either![]()
Doug,
I don't think my groin and you can be friends........... wait a sec........ that sounds kinda weird!?!?!?![]()
Thanks everyone for that extra mile to keep the movement going. People involved
though, make it particularly special.
Thanks to all involved for organizing these days.
Even though the wind was very light, it was good fun to putt along, try some tacks and jibes, and some very interesting water to cross, couldn't get over how clear it was out in the middle, and only 8 foot or so deep.
Megs and I made the trip across for the first time to sail with the Geelong crew.
It was great to meet you all!
The muffins were tops and 3 was just enough.
We wished there was more wind, but I still had a great time sailing along 1 handed for what seemed forever. That place would be great in a high tide and stronger breeze.
Highs:
Muffins
Reds jokes
friendliness of everyone there
flushing toilets
Micks cheese platter
seeing huge sails on the water
long reaches
Simon planing
Lows:
Low breeze
smelly mud
weed weed weed weed
Did i mention weed?
being abused by the fisherman for catching his line
BBQ not working very well
Thanks to everyone there. Our hosts made us most welcome and I'm looking forward to returning the favour and having a sail on our side of town.
I just realised that through all this discussion we have not heard one peep from the IWC chief organiser of this event on why he piked. Was it the threat of the jetty or bouys or was he the irrate fisherman that was abusing everyone
Crowie stand up and confess.
I know of another two locations of these fossils. The warmer months we maybe able to dig them out. No later than Melb Cup weekend.
Ahh, good times. Spewing couldn't make it (dear mother decided to fly into Melb) - did anyone get any pics? Need evidence of road trip and of great foodpoor conditions.....
Ahemm Jodi - What goes on on road trips stays on road trips so no pics.
Red doing a wind dance around a KA sail with nothing on but a beanie is something that should never be published. Also the cranky fisher folk being sacrificed to the wind gods as a peace offering is something that we should not allow our kids to see. I think
K Dog even offered up no s#x with the wife for a month - now that pleased the wind god and we went from 8 kts to 13 kts. late in the afternoon when we where all packing up.![]()
I wonder if I could project it onto the wall of our house at night to scare away the possums?... and possibly any other intruders!
Hey Jerzy - sorry. I had you and Kdog in mind at the time so 50/50 chance of getting right. So how are you coping?![]()
