Nice work fluro got a better sail than all southern sailors , and was back in time for afternoon delight's ie beer - minus the pizzas .good stuff . Don't rely on the Boags swilling crew to let you know where they are sailing, cause that's a northern insite, I meen incest, I meen can spell ,oh crap.

It was such a fine line at Bakers Beach today between the absolutely perfect DTL head high wave riding and total crap.
In the end it was crap 80 percent of the time with very gusty offshore SW wind that you could barely waterstart in. A few waves that I managed to get when some better gusts went through were as good as Bluff Beach last summer. I was quite late, so the wind was possibly better earlier in the day.

A few more photos from Chris and the requested Geoff shot.
The plan tomorrow is to sail east on the low tide and lagoon will also be sailed during the day.

Thanks Gil.

It is amazing how tame it looks in a photo when the wind isn't thumping around your ears and tearing everything out of your hands.

COME ON SUNDAY!

...oh yeah, AND MONDAY!

Low tide around 11.00 - currently 25 knot westerly.

The smart money will be on the water by around 9.00 I reckon.........

The smart money is only starting to wake up. I may be 9:30 for me.
Assuming East ? or is it Bellboy?. ( or check both and see. )

Photos of Pizza Night.
Ben is the newly trained pizza dough expert and Louise and Wendy's gourmet combinations were fabulous.
It was a good night with good company and many topics were discussed including windsurfing tips and injury woes.

A few of us sailing bellbouy at the moment, it's sunny, windy and low tide and far less gusty than yesterday. Lagoon will be sailed in the afternoon

Amazing conditions at all venues today !
Personal best speeds at Lagoon for Ben. Great jibes for Paul. A session at Bellbouy in the morning and another fantastic session for Raffa, Fletcher, Alan and Chris at East at the end of the day. The opener has put a smile on most Northern windsurfing faces. Theres another day forecast for tomorrow ( that is if anyone can get out of bed ). I wish I had some photos of each of the sailing sessions but with the battery running out I missed some great afternoon photo opportunities. But these are a few Bellbouy morning shots.

I don't know why we were wishing Chris Flood was there Gil.......... Those photos came out REALLY well - crystal (sorry Chris, we STILL wish that you were there)

Today's sail was tougher than it looks in the shots. There seemed to be lots of waves 'out to get you', and I did more than my fair share of swimming. Getting back on the board in between the high frequency, punchy waves usually took 6-8 turns in the washing machine first.

A good season opener? Are you kidding?

Yep great hospitality up north ,I stubbornly ignored their posts about East beach being sailed and went solo at bellboy and had some great conditions until the extra 10 knots arrived (still love the place)Later on turned up at East beach and had a chat to the friendly crew ,should have stayed ,Sundays photos looked good and there was no wind in Hobart sunday

Who's sailing where and when today? It looks like the wind is best around the middle of the day. But Its already 20-25 knots. Low tide about 12.

Greeenie and I are currently sipping Lattes at York Cove, because that's what you do when you have 'made it', and because the wind is messing around. We will look at Bellbuy as soon as it steadies up a bit.

I thought they only served cappuccino's at G.town. East may be worth a look. Keep us in the loop.

Alright, I called them Lattes, but they were 'Blend 43's'.

We sailed at BB, it was not too bad, an easy sail. Waiting for the wind would have been folly - you just had to take what it dished out at the time.
