Marrawah Wave (Round 3 wave) competition will be held on the weekend of 19-20th January.

The competition will be in the usual format of Expression Session which means everyone sails and we all vote for the best sailor on the day for women, men and juniors.
All competitors must be a member of Windsurf Tas and for those that aren't already members you can join on the day for $50 which gives you 12 months membership.
The briefing will be at 9am at Greens Beach so just turn up.
If you want more information contact Ant Houston 0417577884

This is a fun weekend for everyone , and anyone that hasn't sailed Marrawah....this is a MUST.......so even if you're not interested in the comp we can all sail together.

You have all seen those crazy Red Bull shots which is enough to send everyone running in the opposite direction well Marrawah is usually pretty tame and is a great place to sail so long as you can water start.....so don't be put off.
If the conditions are not right for your level it's only a 45 min drive to Stanley for the best flat water sailing in the state.

There will be a BBQ Saturday night at the Beach Cottage, Greens Beach and everyone is welcome

Me too nothing quite like the feeling of loosing ones gear!!!

I've been "allowed" to go back, a few caveats like don't sail BOL, don't go out in 40+ knots, don't touch the water if the swell is >5m. But without photo evidence it didn't happen

I'm in for the weekend so can't wait, will be the start of 2 weeks holidays.

Looks like there's already a few signed up for this weekend.................should be some pretty cool prizes.......................should be...............might have to bring your own...........but then there's always the glory of competing in the most pretegious wave comp for the year..............but then again if you don't compete there's always a beer going at the end of the day

saturday could turn into a classic southerly seabreeze but the high need to drop a bit...

there is only going to be a moderate swell, so nobody should be worried about loosing there gear at bol...

Yeah you're right Nick the swell looks pretty moderate so we'll plan to hold the comp on Saturday
Remember anyone can enter, the more people in the more fun we'll have.

Cheers EB

I'm leaving about 6am, Nathan reckons it's looking good for tomorrow and Saturday
Grevill you'll get a sail tomorrow evening

Suggest we all meet at Greens 11am Saturday for briefing, if anyone is coming later than say 12 noon ring me on 0417 577884 or Kaleb on 0417 163603 around 11am just in case we leave Greens and head down to Bluff.
Looks at this stage Greens will be the spot.

I'll have membership forms for those that aren't already members.
This is a fun day so anyone can enter the comp but no pressure, if you don't want to enter we still all sail together.
For those who want to take it seriously there are two cartons of stubbies for anyone that beats Buzzy

Don't forget barbie and 'quiet little drink' Saturday night at Beach Cottages, Greens Beach

Great weekend, but not the best wind/waves
I think I completed the GCC with the walking back up the beach.
Not sure if anyone got photos.

The word is that Jordan pulled off a double forward, Ant is still building the guts to do it.

Fos you may have down played it down a touch

Friday at Bluff was what I would say pretty bloody good. Sure it wasn't "epic" but sometimes that's nice for a change.
Waves were shoulder high but some good rides were up for the taking. Cross wind is always a bit fickle on the inside but planing on a 5.0m out the back which is pretty usual for the Bluff.
10 sailors out on the water which is the best for quite a few years at that spot

Saturday wasn't good enough to hold the comp but still we got the sail we didn't expect.
Checked out Bluff but too onshore and very light so headed off for a leisurely SUP on the river and our Captain Morgs went fishing.
Went back to Greens and found a very light but still sailable cross wind with small but nice waves. Again about 8 sailors hit the water.

At the end of the day we all met along with a crew who'd been sailing Stanley for the quiet little drink.
The Stanley crew who thought the wave boys were a touch boring headed to the pub for a hens night. Ben who we we always thought was a girl got picked out by the bride to be for a lash and a session on the dance floor.........Paul you can explian why Ben was picked out.

All in all a great weekend

Anyone take any pics?
