Saturday:
Nice Sunny day with temp around 27. Lots of swimming.
Jodi and I managed to jump a lift on the start boat to the outside reef area for some snorkelling
Most of the competitors gear arrived on the island.
A couple of WA guys went out for a sail late in the day, fully powered on 8.6.
Pool side dinner, planning Sunday's sail, good forecast
Comp starts Monday.

Sunday:
Great fun today with a nice solid 20+ knot breeze. Used 6.2 and 90 litre. Dave on 7.0 and 110. Kazza on 80 and 5.6. Bit wet this arvo and tonight, but windy
Sailed over to Arlington Reef for a couple of NM runs, great place with about 12km run if you manage to sail right up to the top.
Lots of cocktails, champagne, food, turkey, etc. etc.

The fun starts tomorrow!!!!!

Now the big decision, what gear to register. 1 board 3 sails, 2 boards 2 sails, thinking thinging thinking.

Yeah that would do my head in too. I reckon with forecast wind the 2 boards 2 sails could give you more options.....on the other hand......
Good luck to all!

Karen very kindly lent me her iSonic 97, so we are now 'sharing' that board!! I have registered that with my 110 and a 6.2 and 7.8 (yes, I did bring my 6.2 luckily). I would have been stuffed with just the 110 at times, but did ended up using it with the 6.2 for 3 out of 4 races and then swapped to the 97 for the Freerace. The 110 is pretty nice in the gybes when there are lots of people at the mark. Was blowing about 25 knots most of the day.

Monday:
One full table of Slalom out of the way(everyone sailed 4 heats, using The Andrew Daff system of scoring). Followed by first round of Free Race on the falling tide.
I used 6.2 and 90 Dave on 97 and 110 with 7.0, Kazza on 80 with 5.6.
Great slalom course set just off the wind for each leg. Wind was mainly round the 25knot range all day.
I'll post some results later for both Slalom and Free Race. Kelly from KA72 has our GPS units and will be putting the files through their Free Race software as soon as she gets the chance, Stay tuned.
Great team stuff from Kazza handing over her precious 97 to help out Dave

Not again, something spiked me through my booty out in the transit zone. Guess where I am now, 24hr medical centre. The ball of my foot is paining & puffed up. Hopefully it's fixable, this place really doesn't like me.
25 kts today and just hanging onto the 5.6, tomorrow is forecast for 30 kts, think I'll be flattened with a 5.6.

Oh no Kazza not again. That really sucks, such bad luck. Great idea to lend the 97 to Dave Who would have thought it was going to be that windy for 2 out of 5 days. Hope your foot is ok for the rest of the week.

Sorry Team Tas but there's something in there that has to come out. So waiting in hospital for surgeons to have a look. Not sure if that's it for me race wise or not yet.
