Good pickup Ant.

perfect size, what a hot combination 110 Ray and 95 Falcon.

the gps challenged team is looking good.

motto: Yes we think we are fast, just cannot download to prove it.

How is our membership going, have we received and new team members?.

I've got the feeling when I finally get equipped for speed, that Peter's old slalom "Caveman" board is going to rip. It's a fast machine amazingly for a 1993 model, we used to call it the "secret weapon", can't wait to see if it is a secret weapon and what knots it can do.

Sorry Izaak I sent in the photo you have for your avatar and one of me at Sandy point and with your dads story they only put my mug in the paper. If it makes you feel any better everyone reckons I look like a fat bastard. Photo by Whitecaps photography thanks Jodi

Good stuff Gotta love having 'five coastal sailors' in the team, it's hard for us land locked blokes down here in the south. Being so far from the water,

Hi Kazza It was bloody freezing at Sandy Point so the Impact vest and helmet helped keep me warm but yeah I do wear those two items all the time when its honking
Ant as for your comment if I have to take my poppy harvester through your crops again this year to get to the poppies you better watch out for your hydrants[}:)]

The day there dave did 45, it was very westerly making runs alot shorter and some very very big rolling swell just as you hit you peak speed. i went over the front at 40knots that day just from un hooking, releasing all the pressure off the board and just lost it.so a impact vest and helmet would be a good idea to use sailing at high speed or in big chop i say.

What brand impact vests do you use? (Not that I expect to be doing 40, but I'd imagine going over the front at 30 would be bad enough if you got a boom in the ribs)

Damo can get some really good Neil Pryde ones where there is a gap at the front if you use a waist harness. They're also a buoyancy vest as well for those huge epic swell days where you get separated from your gear and not feeling that confident on your own out there in the big stuff.

Yes im going to get a Neilpryde one myself when the one ive got now goes. they are quite good, the impact vests i mentioned perfect for a seat harness and buoyant.

Yeah the Mystic I have is just a glorified bouyancy vest but I wish I had it on when I came off the formula board at about 26 kts (full noise for me) a couple of years ago and broke some ribs. For serious speed sailing if I bought another one I would make sure it had pockets for some weights for those epic days.
Just got home from the yacht club a nice 15 kt sea breeze got on here to check the wind at P Sorell ready for a dash over at low tide and 6 kts
