That's what you are supposed to do, maybe that's why Severne have not answered.
When they hear from the retailer then they formally are involved.

You could call the factory in China for a quicker result, cut out the red tape

Don't know about the UK but here in Australia the line of warranty claims usually is Retailer -> Sales Rep -> Distributor -> (sometimes) manufacturer. In some rare cases the Retailer is also the Distributor and if they have a good realationship with the manufacturer which can make warranty claims speedier.
That said did you roll out the sail in the shop or did you buy online? If you bought it online I am sure even in the UK they have to take the product back if it's faulty. What is the quality issue you are having? Loose stitching, panel that aren't straight, sharp edges? I just bought a brand new 2017 Severne sail and have seen a number of them on the beach. None of them had any build quality issues.

Good to hear it's been sorted.
I've now been sailing on Severne S1's for a few years now and never had any quality issues.
And my sails do get a workout each season.

Poor form having a manipulative whinge and cry on a public forum Severne should have encouraged you to get point 7 sails.

The decals of a two year old moderately used Severne sail (sail looked after: rigged on grass, washed if sand on it):

Thanks for your info Nerdycross. I would have given the retailer or Severne longer to respond, but I would have had a "whinge on here" if I got no response. I'm glad you got it sorted.

All that wear Jay is probably from where your helmeted head is rubbing across the sail when you get catapulted

Hard to say why the decals are rubbing off. Do you leave the sail sitting on the beach while you are having a break? Is the beach sand or gravel? Where do you sail? Reef break, bay sailing. I have had sails from other brands were the decals rubbed off after a single roll-up with sand on the sail.

But the real question is does it affect performance?

On a different note, I think these days major quality issues with any rarely happen on a mass scale. I believe this is for a number of reasons. Big companies rarely change everything about a sail from season to season. It's too expensive and the risk of introducing quality problems is to big. Secondly, most big brands have team riders or in the case of Severne you have the guy that designs the sails actually using them himselve. From what I have heard Severne for example have their prototypes done in the same factory that produces the final production sail. It would seem quality issues get notices fairly quickly and changes are implemented in manufacturing on the fly.

I was hoping that R1DER would accuse me of having a manipulative whinge and cry on a public forum. Because for once he would be right. NerdyCross was not having a whinge. Do some of you think that new owners purchase products in order to find faults and then slandering the brand ?. No, I don't think so.

No but to many people get on the sea breeze soap box, instead of implementing basic common sense.
Such as talking to store of purchase or giving a brand a reasonable time to respond.

If Severne told Nerdy to P.O, then yes get up on the box, but they replaced the sail.
I think an apology is in order.

My Severne sail must have been assembled at their China location. Mine started falling apart after one season. Very poor job building and assembling the sail. Got it repaired at no cost and then after I got it back, the batton pockets, the corners of the sail started fraying and the stitching started coming out. Maybe there's a voice in my head trying to tell me something here.

Brilliant products Severne sails. 16 sails so far, 12 in current inventory.

I know 16 is not a statistically significant sample size. When I get to 30, I will report back to you.

Boo yeah! More Severne sails!
