They want me to
open up the damaged area to see if there are any construction issues. I have been windsurfing for 35 years or so, formular and slalom, and never had a board that is as soft as this one. So before I take to it with the stanley knife I would like to know if anyone else has had this problem. Thanks in advance.

Same board / year and exactly the same problems after being used just a few times !

At first I put it down to my incompetence at foiling, but the whole deck is very soft and can be compressed with just thumb pressure !

I'm a big fan of JP and have several other standard JP boards in the same construction - No problems with these boards whatsoever.

So, I wonder if there was some production issue with just this batch of 2021 boards, as it's interesting the 2022 board is fine after 6 months.

Im sure they did have a problem with that model.
They did help out little with the warranty. "emphasis on little"

Guess I'm late to this subject, but just thought I would add my experience with a 2021 JP Hydrofoil 135 LXT. I've been careful getting on and off the board so minimal dents although compared to older windsurf boards (Bic, Seatrend) the skin on the JP board is soft and fragile. I can live with small dents here and there, however the board started to crack last summer for no reason (no impact, no denting along the crack). The crack follows the ridge of the top of the board (the transition from the concave to the convex area). The mast does not contact the board in this area so this is not caused by mast pressure or impact. I reported this to the retailer about 6 months ago (board still under warranty). They submitted a warranty claim but still haven't heard anything back from JP. I also have a JP Free Foil Board 115 LXT with no issues so far, although it hasn't seen much use. I do like the performance of the 135 hydrofoil, but there's something wrong with the construction IMO. I've patched the crack with fiberglass cloth and epoxy to keep water out, although I have no idea if the crack will just keep growing along the ridge. I wish JP provided some assistance but it's not looking promising at this point. I've ordered a 2023 Starboard Foil Freeride board as I can't count on the Hydrofoil LXT. JP has lost a customer.

Which country are you in?
Who isnt replying? The importer, JP themselves, or Cobra.
As mentioned previously, when I (in the UK) had an issue with a board I sent a video on youtube to the shop in France I bought it from and I could see it went to Cobra in a matter of days by looking at the youtube stats. I heard back in a week and a replacement board soon after.
I was looking for a new board and the JP Supersport was at the top of the list then they moved to that LXT construction which I didnt like the look of at all. I didnt buy one in the end as someone I know also had an issue with an LXT board, that creased after hard touchdowns.

Like for most things, it's a trade-off. If you want light weight you have to accept a dentable skin. If you want a tough skin, you accept more weight.

Same type of cracks my board developed - Exactly the same year & model !

Yep. Normally I'd agree with that sentiment. But JP have been designing/selling foil boards for a while now. This isn't a top end race board where it's expected the board is constructed minimally. It's an every person board, that shouldn't dent from normal use. They've managed to produce these boards in previous years without these issues. This one looks to be a dud.
