Nice bit of wind on Sunday morning had to be out early to make the most of the wind & tide, before the water disappeared.

First time in ages that wind & weekend & availability matched!!!!

I finally got on the water today after a week or more of watching a reading about everyone else. Light and weedy. started on 7.0 and went up to 8.6 on the slalom but it was blaghhhh
its all over bar the shouting by the look of it for a while. just as well as the shoulder isn't helping.
enjoyed the sail and the company all the same!

Pirates - just saw Paddles (Sandstone Seabreezers) post about setting up GPSTC team. Any interest from that that sail around the southern bay/Vic Point etc? Maybe we can get a bit of north vs south action going on. Let me know if there is any interest.

Good stuff Mal, it'd be great to have a north v south "fun" comp between us GPS rookies and even to catch up to sail together. As I was saying to Mal, feel free to join up with us Sandstone hillbillies in the short term until you get a Vicci Point team together and then change teams.

Turned out to be an ok day. Variable wind, rain & strong gusts, no wind then reasonable wind for an hour or so. Thanks to those who made the sacrifice to watch the football and whipper snippering. Let's try again tomorrow.

Great afternoon Sail with all the boys. The wind was good and I rigged a 6.6 koncept on my old course board with the weed fin that I fitted a fillet to. The fillet did make a difference, I sailed a couple of runs out the back and the chop was coming from every direction- the fin didn't spin out at all. That sort of condition usually had it spinning out before the fillet. I didn't get an hour as my boom tail fitting decided to come apart so had to come in for a pit stop ..great day all said and done. Jinx &Sue turned up on mountain bikes, no sailing for Jinx till stitches heal...

Great turnout at Vicci today, wind was a bit up and down and all the boys on big sails.
LOTS of families enjoying the good picnic weather at the park too.
I rigged 8.6 on the naish and 28 fangy. Didn't have a long session and spent a bit of time trying to tune it to behave in the gusts. Forgot my watch so you'll have to take my word that I was on the plane most of the time and was going ok. I'm still enjoying the fangy fin too.

sailed with my mates today- where was everyone???
got back on the foil after a couple of months waiting for the shoulder to improve. the wind was 8-12 in the gusts- good for getting back on the horse. I'd forgotten how much more effort and concentration was involved foiling and only did 30 mins. I didn't crash out once even though i did breach. remembered the watch but forgot to turn it off till i was a k down the road and doing 25 kts. most of the runs were 16-18 kts and about 50% flying on the foil with the 7.0 ezzy freeride and thommen xxl if any of you locals wants to try the foil for yourself let me know, the old thommen is well padded n the nose!! all we need is full high tide and under 15-16 kts of wind.

YEEEARRRH ... who be the sea dog that left his/her sunglasses down by the old tree at Thompson's this afternoon? Have them with me.

Sailed out at Thompson's last Thursday arv and this afternoon, had a ball with a great crew, was on a board and rig combination I've been looking to tune on and off over the last year - dropping to a lower clew eye option and moving the mast base and footstraps forward on Thursday appear to have found a sweet spot. Was at the point of looking into purchasing another board before the above adjustments, have been reminded that persistence and trial is key with tuning.

Looking forward to more green arrows

On the edge of the park opposite the water and carry the gear across.
i went fro a sail yesterday got there and rigged a 7.3 around 3:00 as it was about 15-16 knots, went out, the wind dropped and I dogged around so gave up and packed up and the wind went straight back up to 15 knots!!!! Here's the proof!

5 knots drop per rig Pete! Your "theory" is almost a "law" now ....................... "Pete's Law of Sailability"

Jack - hopefully all construction at VP is done & ready for your comeback after getting the new bionic knee. (we don't want you having to walk too far!!!) There'll be no holding you back next summer with the new knee. Hope the recovery is going well.

Thanks Mal. Can't wait to get back on the water, but gotta be patient. Lots of physio (read pain) and literally learning to walk again now my leg's straight again! Might have to learn to sail again when Doc gives me the thumbs up to sail. In the meantime, I'm watching the works at VP with interest.

Yep looks pretty good and not too obtrusive for us. I pass VP each week on a bike ride. Been slow progress for those council workers!! Looking forward to some good SE'lies soon!! Off o'seas for Sept but would like a sail before I go. Cheers

I was down there earlier in week and had a look at nearly finished works.
Hope you get a sail in before Sept Greg.
Not been much wind lately.
