From memory, they are often a little stronger than predicted. My personal formula is whatever the NW at 8am is, times ~3 (in the broadwater)

Fingers crossed.

Two of us had a great time after about 3.30 on Lake Weyba.
It was around 10-15 NE. We were set up for light wind sailing, whereas most would not have ventured out.

Yup. Juuust sailable on some big gear at Cold Toast right now, but alas I'm working. 14 knots is kinda boring, but a consistant breeze, warm weather, sunshine, clean water and the like, who cares about exciting? Sailing in these conditions is niiiiice.

I'm going to be rigged and ready at The Train about 1pm tomorrow (probably KFC) for my first seabreeze in can't remember how long. I don't think I sailed The Train at all last season.

I hope I'm stoking some enthusiasm.

PS Big gear for me is 110litres and a 7.2, and a 40cm fin.

Just to stoke some enthusiasm some more there's a blue patch predicted around 4pm Saturday. 15 - 20 knots. And The Train funnels and accelerates the wind.

I'm taking a 5.9 just in case.

Summer is here!

(I'd like to do Narrowneck but I don't think the wind has it in it)

The tide is going out

Goes in and out the seaway. Tide going same direction as the wind means you will have to sail upwind all the time at shearwater. This can be alright if it is not a big tide, but it's a reasonably strong tide today.

You just have to imagine the seaway, the tide coming in and out of it, and the wind direction.

So you're stuck with locations south of the seaway. The Train will be best.

Fingers crossed I haven't jinxed it. I'm gonna jinx this so bad it goes full circle. There's going to be a 15+ seabreeze around 1pm, damn it! Note that The Train really does pick up more seabreeze than anywhere else. Sometimes a lot more. Not sure how it works, exactly.

Well Panda 10 points for optimism, I have had the week off and it hasn't kicked in enough for a sail, can't see today being any different, however, I will not miss out so Choo Choo here I come 115l and 7.5, hmmm we may need to blow up some moored craft.

Hmmm demented ravings only to stir up the discontent resulting from a windless spring.
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr and stupidly went to The Spit for a surf and took me an hour to get back to Surfers grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. The coast is screwed.

Ocean is as flat as a tack so if you want some fun try currumbin or kirra.
I think I will try currumbin for convenience.
Always a good wrestle but prolly tame tomrz

Nah that twitter/text abbreviation doesn't work. I can't even understand myself.
I will go to windsurf at Currumbin tomorrow as it looks convenient and not too much like a washing machine in a NE er.
