Sunday = 5.0 first up followed by 2+hrs on 4.3 in dusk session, was the biggest & angriest seen in years out the back. Outer sand bars+reefs really kickin it up with the ESE on the half tide and southern end offering a turn around sanctuary. You know it's on when you have to sit on your rig in a squall to stop it blowing up the beach and into the cars of storm watchers
Monday = 4.3 in the arvo for a couple of hours, lighter and more manageable than Sundays day of 'sh!ts & giggles'. Bay swell still good & some great backside+clew first action to be had on the full tide. North end outer sand bars doing a nice job towards Scarborough end, Queens middle sandbar offering up some good rides to the beach
Tuesday = looking good for 3 days in a row with the 4.3. Going to try for low-tide to see what the shallows throw my way. Getting antsy all ready, wetsuit dried nicely overnight.
Wednesday = the future, can't predict it. Will leave that to the crew in heavy weather...
there was no wind , there was no wind , there was no wind, if I keep repeating it I might believe it.
there is still no wind (need to fix the rattle in the windows, its quite loud)
Good to see some of you have had a fantastic couple of days.
have doc appointment on Thursday re x ray and us results on shoulder. possibly not as bad as initially thought, though will wait till have seen doc.
took the kids to school via the water front this am and got blasted by foam when drove past the Margate boat ramp, then severely buffeted on the bridges. ( I know I have got one windsurfer when he says he'd love to try this wind with his 2.0 sail but on flat water, his bro says you'd get blown away, his reply was I'd try the harness)
Well done Brent, you thrive in those conditions. Missed every day myself, life, work. every excuse under the sun. Next time it's on I'll see you out there!
headed down for a 2.45-3 pm start. Fingers crossed for 4 Days in a row and lowish tide, C U there Dr
A couple of hours yesterday afternoon ENE, 6m+100L board and stronger than it looked from the beach. Clear skies, water warming up... good sailing weather starting to roll through.
Qld needs daylight savings... for the alignment of regional business requirements!
conditions improved to 5.3m weather just after you left until sunset, great session, and yes I'm bloody sick of packing up my gear in the dark. Let's start a "bring back daylight saving" lobby group. Active people don't get fat!
Nice couple of hours with a 5.3 around lunchtime today.
Back on deck after a few weeks overseas. Got to sail Penghu Is. a seriously windy place. Had an arvo in head to logo high port tack getting flattened with a 4m, others using 3.0-3.7. Awsome adventure
A fun blast yesterday, good to catch up with the local crew out enjoying a Saturday arvo. Windier than I thought it was going to be with 6.0 nicely powered. Even got to work on some freestyle transitions, that's what I call falling off now that I'm 50
Mentioned Penghu Is. previously, here is the link to the B&B I stayed at & a bit about the set up they have.

There's flat water, B&J plus some wave action to be had. Was speaking with the owner on Friday and they were heading out for a session... in 40-50knts... again! Extremely friendly place, great food and a recommended location for the bucket list of high-winders.
Can't believe how sore I was Saturday night after sailing all arvo in good conditions. Absolutely worth every ache and pain!
fantastic 5.0 session late yesterday, was not expecting how strong and consistent it was. Feeling it today after a few weeks of being a non-sailor. Nice pre-Xmas present for the SE Qld windsurfers
Great first NE of the season yesterday arvo, reckon gusts were north of 30knts. flat 5.0 for a couple of hours getting chucked around. BRING IT ON!
Queens is such a great NE spot! Gotta hope that a start of spring sea breeze foretells a big summer?? of course any wind you'd care to send north would be welcome.
+ 5.0 Monday morning for a quiet solo run. Nice way to start the week & clear out Sundays cobwebs, back to work now...
Looks like some of the old Queens Beach sailors (80s and 90s) plan to gather again on the Oz Day long weekend. Be great to meet some of the new Queens Beach crew!
30knts+ on the bay, cranking Sunday arvo session for the crew. Reckon an AUS day get together could be good thing too.
.... you know its windy when you are getting stung by sand standing by your car ! Epic wind a lot out on the water awesome arvo
epic conditions for those who could get out this afternoon. Near dead side shore with 4.0-4.5s fully lit up. And a low tide to boot up the 1.5m rolling in.
How is it in NNE
What tide best for some jumping? Is it starboard tack in a NE???? Looks like it from those pics
