Most of you experienced speedsters probably already know this, but for the GPS newcomers, (seems the GPS bug is really starting to bite on Botany Bay), this is something you want to know about.

The latest GT-31 firmware upgrade on the manufacturers web-site (locosystech.com) is NOT the latest. There is a more recent upgrade with a couple of great features. Download it from here:

http://mountbest.net/setting-up-navi-GT31.htm

The Speed Genie feature now has FOUR screens in the rotating display, and the rotation speed has been slowed down from the factory default, making it a lot easier to read.

1. "Max Speed" from latest run.
2. "Max 10 sec Speed" from latest run.
3. Combo display of "Max Speed/Max 10 sec Speed" from your latest run.
4. Combo display of best "Max Speed/Max 10 sec Speed" of the day.

Also, in the "Misc" menu, you can now turn any of these four displays on or off, so that only those you want are including in the rotating display.

G'day Herb.

Yeah, when I saw the case was held together with metal screw, and not just glued together, my concerns about being able to replace the internal battery if it dies were alleviated.

Also, the latest version of the speed genie is pretty cool.

And just for fun, I'm going geo-cache hunting at lunch time in the Sydney CBD.

I saw a GT-31 on Sunday. A fellow GPS Challenge team member bought one. The new menu system looks good. Have you joined a GPS Challenge team yet Harrow?
