With a bit of luck see you all Tuesday Afternoon, Train arrives Adelaide about 8am, so I'll drive straight to LG, shall I drive straight to The SPIT?
Did that trip did it a few years ago with a car loaded on the back, saved the drive. Was 43C when we left Perth. Private cabin was fantastic and incredible view out the panoramic window. Love the stop in Cook to drop off supplies for the old caretaker. Three days of bliss...hypnotised by the clickety clack of the rails!
Here's the toy I loaded on the back.

This will get you even more moist. This time in the Gorge.

Late 70's Aston Martin Vantage?
Correct you are Mr. Mason, they have been a favorite of mine for many years. Even wrote a few books about them.
Awesome car. A mate of mine in Perth bought one (black with cream leather upholstery) in the mid nineties and turned up with it one Friday evening when we were drinking in the claremont hotel. Of course we all went out to have a look, and then we asked him to start it up. You would be familiar with the throaty rumble that comes out of these things at idle, so of course we asked him to rev it up a bit, which he did.
The volume was truly astounding, the result being that it set off multiple car alarms in Bayview Terrace, and we scurried back to the pub in case the police turned up.
I also remember it cost him the equivalent of a small BMW to get the gearbox repaired after it had problems during a classic car rally, so I dont think it turned out to be a great investment for him.
