Love the stop in Cook to drop off supplies for the old caretaker. Three days of bliss...hypnotised by the clickety clack of the rails!

Correct you are Mr. Mason, they have been a favorite of mine for many years. Even wrote a few books about them.

Awesome car. A mate of mine in Perth bought one (black with cream leather upholstery) in the mid nineties and turned up with it one Friday evening when we were drinking in the claremont hotel. Of course we all went out to have a look, and then we asked him to start it up. You would be familiar with the throaty rumble that comes out of these things at idle, so of course we asked him to rev it up a bit, which he did.

The volume was truly astounding, the result being that it set off multiple car alarms in Bayview Terrace, and we scurried back to the pub in case the police turned up.

I also remember it cost him the equivalent of a small BMW to get the gearbox repaired after it had problems during a classic car rally, so I dont think it turned out to be a great investment for him.

I've raced them in Europe and the USA, as well as touring around various parts of the world in them. Here's the blue one at speed at Spa!

Must have been a different car, my mate's car was mint condition. I think he ended up selling it to Janet Holmes-A'court, who probably did very well out of it as an investment.

That's the one, nobody knew it had been crashed badly in the UK, repaired and shipped to Australia. It's up in Sydney now. Chassis number 12193.

Some weedbeds out there today the FF got bogged down a bit. Some flatwater and good gusts but I could never line any up in the flat..Heaps of wind out in the middle and the other side. I think the beds were getting some too..just not when I was there..

Now that you've all been there for a few days and presumably had the chance to observe the water level:
- is it dropping at all during the days of sou'easters as water is blown out of the middle lake and into the large lake?
- is it dropping overall at any measurable rate?

Yours in extreme jealousy of not being there but contemplating a cannonball-like run if conditions become magical....Eckers!

Yes with wind. Daffy is best to ask. Earlier today he said it was up 12cm from the day before..I'd say it dropped later today as the wind strengthened..
