Hey guys we probably have enough money to cover the july trophy/ies and then we need more if we wanna keep doing trophies and medals etc.

Both Ben and I hate asking 4 money, so some sort of fundraising idea where the donations both get something in return and fill the Trophy/Medal coffers.

I know Ben and some were talking about team logos for sails on some sort of sticker???

Whaddyareckon?

I'd like some stickers for sails and car but would I pay as much for them as I would a Tshirt?????
Think I need some prices before I can comment.

Thats a good point maybe a variety of things, the T-Shirt was so popular and unique, maybe another T-Shirt idea?

How about a nominal annual registration fee? this would help fund the website, events and prizes.

$10 annual fee -no goodies
$15 af- sticker pack
$25 af- stickers & cap
$50 af- stickers, cap and tshirt

$1000 af - top of table! haha

I'd second Maximus's suggestion, a small fee for what we get out of GTC is good value.

Do you really need to give out trophies?

For last months winners you could just have a 'big' annoying banner on the home page or as an intermediate page before posting you know the click to continue type page. Winners could post a team pic or team emblem/crest on this page.

More punters will see that every time they post!! than a dusty trophey in a cupboard somewhere or a medalion in a draw.

Maybe add a 'hall of fame' for past winners also.

I'm ok with buying the odd 'T' or cap but thats about it.

I'll second that Dave, personally I have a shelf full of them that just get in the way.

To me the whole appeal of the challenge is to push yourself as well as getting to know others with similar interests.

Trophies not needed, just a bit of extra fun, certainly don't want anyone to have to stretch already thin family or living budgets!!!!!!!

What about GTC boardies to wear over our wetsuits

I would happily pay a rego fee($50) that included some goodies such as hat, T-shirt or stickers etc.

My hockey fees are $360 a season

I'm inclined to agree with DavMen, about the minor team trophies, after all it's an online comp, the "trophies" could also be online.
How many teams have a clubhouse in which to display the trophy? It probably ends up in somebody's cupboard, very rarely to be seen by all club members again.

But we do need to cover the other running costs somehow.
Another idea is a raffle.

There is NO WAY I want to end up with Hardie doing odd jobs at my house

I'd be happy with stickers (sail or car or both)
also more than happy to buy another Tshirt (perhaps this years could be a different colour, so we can see the tightwads still wearing last years (mind you that would be me .... still wearing tshirts from the 80's))

Hi guys, I'm happy/able to organise more tees in either a different colour or have another design made up. Also can do a wide variety of caps, bucket hats or beanies if wanted. Can also do standard lycra rashies and I also have a supplier who have boardies in a couple of different colourways.
Nebs/Hardie I can put you in touch with a couple of good sticker suppliers if you want. Just pm me if you want details.
Personally I'm happy with a rego fee. GPSSS do it and I think you guys offer way more incentives than what they do. My opinion also is that I don't see a need for monthly or seasonal trophies. I prefer just the one perpetual trophy as it adds more prestige. My kids get trophies every year just for playing their sport, when I was a kid I had to earn it. I'm not saying that the winter cups etc aren't earned, just that I think it detracts from the biggie at the end of the year.
Cheers :)

Caps, bucket (giggle type) and sail transfers. The transfers would need to be rather large, as Pinnas went with a team set last season, and you have to be real close to see what it reads. (yes I know, old blind bugger, but you get that)
Annual fee also fine by me.

I,m happy just to have an overall trophy. Once we add the winter cup to make the set complete . I like DavMans idea of the Banner on GPSTC, good braging rights for a month and no postage costs. Stickers,Tees, beanies, etc all great with me.

A prawn and porn night, but wait till feb when I'm back over

I'll buy, subscribe or donate whatever but think just sticking to t-shirts, stickers, coolers or caps might be the go

With stickers not team stickers as teams like MBM have a great design already and I'm thinking of doing one for FNQM, just do Challenge stickers

All wonderful ideas (except Gestalt's one... you'll keep!)

Keep them coming, please!

Bear in mind that I feel strongly that the challenge should remain free to join and compete in. This encourages people who don't post very often to still be a part of it, whenever they can.

Are there donation capabilities at the moment?

Maybe have Teams sponsor the site each year? Gold, Silver and Bronze Team sponsorship would allow only those that want to donate to donate on behalf of their Team. Individual donations within a Team could see sponsorship rise through Bronze <$50, Silver $51-100 and Gold >$100? What level of sponsorship Teams provide could be identified only on the 'Teams' page to keep it fairly low profile.
