I made a little video clip about a super windskate session I had in Nederlands at Westkappel two weeks ago. I was dreaming about it since a while, I finaly made it. It was even more fun then what I expected.

After waiting the conditions couples days I finaly had the chance to ride a super nice concreat wave down the line for hours. I was so cool, I am happy to share this whit you so you could see what is possible and try that if you have the chance, It is super super cool. I think concreat wave windskating have a lot of potential. : )

Cheers my friends! Have fun, life is short!

Wow, that looks like a great location to do that, with a real "wave". Enjoyed the video as well. We only had parking lots to do that. Here is a pic of a friend back in the '80s...

I like your video. Nice venue and steady wind. Now if you could just get rid of the other vehicles it would be perfect.

It's there for safety .
If the mast base breaks he can roll up the rig and use it tie it to the board and safely paddle back in .

Works perfect .

Ive used 7.5 6.6 5.7 5.0 & 4mtr.
The big sails are harder to use of course i find the 5.7 works well for 15 knots but over 25 knots i go 5mtr over 30knots i go 4 mtr .
Im not cruising around i go for massive speed runs .
I've raced cars & had them tell me im doing 90km it's why i go for the drop through trucks i got the death wobbles at about 70 on normal trucks.
They reckon drop through trucks are good for 150km before death wobbles.
Im definitely faster on land than water .
Its a bit of a rush.
Worry about gravel rash & think i should wear leathers & helmet .
But touch wood im pretty good & know how to break with sail & at those speeds its easy to jump board over things

Forget it get the sail over the front trucks boards unbalanced .
You will never get any speed if you go fast & have any decent wind lifting a foot off & leaning on boom will drive front of board into ground & bite the tar time .
You havn't lived till you hear those bearings screaming .
Masters car parks were great still some vacant ones they havn't sold off yet .
I sort of gave up riding the roads racing cars .
But i was 48 doing that

Nice work Actionmax, got any pics of dropthru trucks? Or the whole setup.? About 30kmh was max speed today 5-10kts. 4.0 naish. Mountain board was slower than skatey. Heels catch on wheels on mountain board. Harder wheels are faster.
But heres the best bit.
^^OW ,KIDS FIND IT EASIER TO USE UPHAUL. Who wouldve guessed??? They dont have the strength to just pick up the rig.
Had 15yo n 10yo girls carvin the carparks this arvo. Theyre saying its easier than sailing on the water.

That makes me happy on the inside olskool , well done , it's all good , better than digging stump holes
Now to u actionmax ( great name ) I'm a little worried , 150 Kmph before death wobbles , at 48 ?
I have some solid advice , put the bloody helmet on !
A active mate of mine fell off his scateboard on a grass landing at walking pace and snapped his wrist in a few places and had to watch us sail for 8 long months . And he's fitter and younger and 30 kg lighter than me .
Ill take my chances crashing on nice soft water , and gear , in shallow water , all twisted up in harness lines , or in deep water one mile out separated from board trying to sprint swim a couple times , trying to catch my comfy floaty board , ( using all my energy ) , to no avail , all alone without floatation........ I think I saw God gulping water , no **** , could have been vultures , hard to say when near drowning. It's a weird calm state of mind that I don't ever want to experance again.
mmmm , I'm looking at my grown up kids unused scateboaard in the shed

I have thought about doing a official speed run to raise money for a charity & set the record I dont think there is an official record but I have know idea of how to do that but I reckon it would be a bit of fun get windskaters together.

OW, nice work mate! It's awesome fun!!! Seriously, for those who have never skated it makes riding the board pretty easy. Pull of the sail helps balance. Some pics of todays carvin the streets. 3-5kts 5.4m

Mid carve gybe. wish i was this fluent on the water!!

^Yeeeewwww !! First timer on a windskate.
PS If you thought you were an addicted Windsurfer, n couldnt keep your eyes of the water. Wait til ya try this... Now theres roads carparks n anywhere where theres clean wind. The suburbs will NEVER look the same.

I use to really enjoy this in the off season, but the parking lot where I go is getting too torn up, and I have had some hard falls because of it. Nothing worse than the front wheel getting stuck in a large crack in the pavement. I always wear a helmet wrist splints and knee pads, which has really saved me from past falls. Felt if I continued, I'd break a bone.

I always wore my harness on the windskater, found it worked great. Does anyone else use one?

Gday Magic! im only new to windskate. Have ridden a skatey since very young. Havnt felt like i need harness yet. Gusty windshadows where im skating. Consequently i seem to do HEAPS of pumping. Im huffing n puffing much more than when im windsurfing. Great fitness for the off season. Feels great to carve the board at the same time as pumping the sail. Really accelerates quickly. Also im appreciating the apparent wind generated. Think its more noticable than on windsurf. Maybe bcoz of no sideslip... Using google maps to find suitable venues. I spy large netball courts nearby.....

I'm the same dont wear a harness wind shifts to much but I also reverse the sail so the back is into the wind & use as a brake .
Sometimes I've just got to slow down .
Be careful on the net ball courts .
I was at net ball courts & some girls were practicing & one jumped & did a shot & her tits fell out of the singlet & i didnt look we're I was going & managed to run into a post.
Give them all a good laugh .
I can't seem to upload photos I'm doing something wrong I was trying to put up picture of base plate .
Now I'm starting to get over a really bad flue I'll try to get out again its been a while.
