What type fin n length? Stock is 34cm straight backed thing. Deep off the wind it tends to rail the board. Whats a better fin to use?

Correct. That's me at 30.13knots peak with Equipe II and 7.4m

Big ~SW gust and flat water behind Pt Walter. Not sure of wind speed, maybe 25-30knot gust.
Can also do 27 knots quite easily with 9.5m in less wind and not so flat water.

this is on my phantom 380, I think my imco is a little quicker.

Are you sure that peak is accurate/not a spike? There is quite a difference between the top10 sec and the others.

What was the GPS?

where I sail the runs are short and the wind is gusty, however the water is flat and gusts can be big.

Hiya, just curious of mast track position. Im 105kg n have it set at about number 3. Seems to keep board reatively flat. Board handles quite neutral, doesnt round up etc.Should i move it back further if im just reaching? Will boardspeed increase due to less wetted surface area? Wind strength 15-20kts. Thanks guys

hi andrew this was the first sail on the new mistral 1 design need, a lot more consistant wind can any one tell the year of this board and if they still mahe the same sail

the pink one designs were 91/92.
pull out the centreboard, there should be a moulded date stamp on the centre board, if the centreboard is original that will tell you.
they have not made those sails in a while, the mistral was last used as the Olympic board in 2004.

Hey, great footage on the IMCO Greg. The telemetry is trick. Did you muck around with mast track position? I mostly sail mine at about position 4. In 15-25kts should i move it further back? Im mostly beam to broad reaching.

my track goes from 1 to 14,1 at the front 14 at the back, early in the video i had it about 6 and center board half way down on a tight reach, and about 1.40 secs into the video i pulled it back to about 10 and raised the center board on a broader reach very under powered but would plane if there was plenty of wind i would have it right back for down wind, and about 3 for upwind. i use the track forward in light winds and a lot of center board to help me stay on the plane

Thanks Greg. Will give it a spin.Sailed today and broke my UJ. It had Mistral pin bottom and chinook style top to suit extensions. Can i use any uni? Just unbolt Mistral pin and chinook fitting? Then swap it all to new uni?

take it to deter and get him to replace the joint only and reuse old pins

I saw that board on Gumtree. Good value. I always sail upwind with mast right forward. Tight reach planing, reaching planing and downwind planing with mast right back and c/b up. But depending on the conditions, other positions could work. Go by feel.
You could ask a good sailmaker to copy it for you. Maybe add and extra 0.6m. You can buy raceboard sails in a range of sizes from demon but that will start getting expensive.

i ve already got aloft 9.5 raceboard sail,but just loved that old fashion feeling of power in a small light sail,. it was easy to throw around.

Also interestingt to note when the wind blew hard on day 4 both number 1 and 2 placed sailors went to NP RSX as the high wind option, one on a 9.5 the other on an 8.5

Im looking at NP twin cam 8.2. Will go on slalom board too as here are no 8.5s on the market. Have a 7.0 gaastra racefoil too.

Does anyone know if the Exocet COACH sails are available in Australia and has anyone any idea how competitive on the course ?

How competitive in price terms ?

Can they be used on RDM masts ?

I do know from the internet, the designer had success in Europe:2016 European championship Mens 3rd place Christophe Boutet...

Were any of these "COACH" sails in use at the recent worlds ? Result, if any ?

My best so far (on a Phantom 380) was a 10 second average of a little over 31knots, wind was 25-30. This was quite a few years ago and I have been waiting for the right conditions to try a smaller sail in over 30 knots to try and beat this.
