Is this not the best bit of kit for offshore sailing ?

I had one of those ,by pro limit ,ok in flat water ,kinda like direct drive ,but very rigid in ocean ,Phew hard work ,it works and a good price ,,just don't expect it to flex in chop ,but give it a crack you might like it being a speed sailor , mine never broke ,it just bent a little .It was so much easier to put your sail on having it at 90 degree angle ,specially with a big sail and big board trying to twist a rubber neck ,I would probably buy another just never thought they where around .huh .I say go for it .

Got one similar, smooth water is best or just make sure your fillings are tight.

China manufacturers flexing muscle and or testing the waters, most of our gear comes from Asian sweat shops, we just trust the big brands to impose quality control and or offer warranty.We make nothing in the west any more. Soon all the western world will be on our knees when china and other cheap Asian labour countries turn off the tap of low cost manufacturing and demand we pay properly so they too can go windsurfing or have holidays in Bali etc, oh hang on its already happening.

This one confuses me.
What do I do with the base ? Do I stick it to the board with double sided tape to save time and energy ? Am I supposed to laminate it into a water skill board ?
From an engineering point of view , I especially love the fact that that the tendon is shorter than the diameter of the tendon. So it can't bend to 90 deg without excessively stretching the tendon. Luckily it has those tiny plastic threading screws holding the bit that holds the brass nut.
Luckily for us they let us know it's for outdoor use instead of inside use.
What amazes me is that someone goes to all the cost of tooling up the moulds for something that just doesn't work. They would have to sell tens of thousands of these to make their money back. Luckily for them they can save some cost using the cheapest plastic possible.

That screw , ( if it is a M8 ) , isn't long enough to attach a T nut and use it in our boards. I'm presuming it has to be used with that base. Which saves time and energy.

I use the Chinook mechanical UJ for windfoil..its good as you rarely have a hard smackdown, not bouncing off chop the whole time like on a slapper.

Long ago I bought some harness lines from AliExpress they came without any rope inside the tubing. Stitching looked good though.

Fake? Cant be for real. My guess is if you order than nothing will turn up. But even so, wouldnt it be easier to rip a photo off of a Chinook which does work and add a logo.

Some people are obsessed with saving weight. You can buy motorbike engine casing bolt kits in titanium to replace the 'heavy' OE stuff.

that was a Dutchism, sorry. But on language, i feel there was a time when the unbreakable bond between windsurfing feature innovation and pleasantly verbose marketing blurb was much more rich and engaging.
Nowadays you have to scour Chinese B2C platforms to get your fix.

Window shopping at windowsurfing shops is my guilty pleasure.

The cordless harness may have fell on the quality control check but surely successfully pass the quantity control check!

Mystery solved. You can either attach the base to a inflatable SUP or screw just the top part in. From various ads from aliexpress. btw, if anyone wants to actually risk their life on these things, a "friend" tells me ordering from ali, etc is often about half the price of ebay or amazon. My "friend" orders cycle and other odd stuff there. Much better than Amazon pretending that Dyirible is some sort of recognized brand.

That 1 mm high something that is under the deck grip in the pic is not the one inch high bit of plastic flange that the base screws into.
BTW , fun fact , for extra safety , most glues won't stick to most plastics. Apart from solvent based glues that melt certain plastics together like acrylics. Aeroplane model glue etc. And that's probably not the kind of glue you would want to use on a blow up sup.
I would use Grout or ridge capping cement to glue that flange onto the blow up sup. Then take it on a serious offshore maiden voyage.
