Who informed you of the fix for 2023

I heard this too, can't find the video I watched, but Remi V was talking about test the 2023 Futura proto's, he said the shape would remain the same, but the footstraps would be further outboard, because his team all said they we're to inboard.

Glad they saw the light ... they do have an whole Isonic line that puts the footstraps where they should. It's not really a mystery where, for an example my AV 88 slalom ...

Sorry if this is off-topic and maybe it's the angle but are your back straps a little bit bigger than your front? I'm having consistent issues with only one board (my most slalom-ish) getting into the rear straps and I'm thinking of opening them up some.

Router question was a (half) joke, I just don't like the tool! but I can always use a drill. Resale value is already non existent. Nobody seems to buy (or sell) a windsurf in the San Francisco Bay Area. Especially a mid size slalom board.

get an 18v trim router. They are cheap and much user friendly (compared to my 30 y.o. Porter Cable one)

Yes it is. It in on purpose. The insert are off set. It helps sliding the foot in.

That looks uncomfortable as hell for when you're fully lit and want to load the fin......? You'd look like a duck.
I'm no slalom or speed sailor but, I'd want perpendicular.... and to be able to roll the foot forward if wind drops a bit heading upwind, this looks easy to get foot in but totally opposite to what u want for actual sailing? or is this just me..?

Never judge things by their looks! It is a small offset that puts the rear straps at a small angle with respect to the center line of the board. See below or www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/Windsurfing/Review/AV-Boards?page=1. I actually always wondered why there is not an angle in the back footstraps. Besides slightly facilitating the entry in a slalom board, your natural foot position is not with a foot straight and the other pointing forward.

BTW: My photo was taken just before the AV Modena 88 maiden voyage. Lovely board!!!!

Are you using both screw inserts on the back straps(4 screws for each strap)? if so there's no reason you couldn't use one centre footstrap screw which would give you even more options.

Mark: just another example, with a greater rear strap angle.
Choco: as I mentioned that was the maiden voyage for the board, and I always start with everything in the middle positions. I will almost certainly use the rearmost inserts, but very likely keep four screws/strap. Plenty reasons to use four instead of two! But yes, of course you can use two and move the straps more inboard or outboard.

Yeah it makes sense for blasting. I set my foot at 45 degrees when cruising upwind. I think the front strap angle could use some tuning too. May play with it someday. Probably could be more inline with the board.

Maybe this is why I'm not a slalom guy

Well just looking at it, I'm thinking I couldn't sail it like that. Maybe because I always use weedies and have to get my weight a bit further back. But can't say I've ever seen straps like that anywhere.
