I've given the sail a good test in 5-15/18kts on Lake Macquarie. Very happy with it .
I've been super powered but it didn't misbehave and I could depower it.
I was rigged for 5-12kts and a rain squall came through at 15-18kts..I can't say I enjoyed it, but I stayed in one piece and the sail was well behaved even though I had it set for lightwinds with not much downhaul and a full belly.
I'm very impreesed with it's lightness and balance. With the old 7.5m ( 2021) I was at the limit of my strength upahuling or waterstarting. Despite being 5 years older I find this one better. It's still hardwork, but not as bad.
It's rotation is great . If I'm lying in the water it can flip back and forth like a raf sail as I prep to waterstart.
The only thing I don't like is I have some cracks in the window above the boom. The sort that eventually fail..
I noticed that after the 3rd sail. I'm told they look like it's hit something..grr I thought I was careful. Anyway I bought some clear mylar tape and have reinforced the area . I'm sure they wouldn't have been an issue for a few years but I feel better now..a stitch in time...
Probably my fault but it sucks in such a new sail..?
