Well I'm both, if the waters flat and I'm on port tack my PB alpha is 25kts and I only come off if I'm really pushing the limits trying for a 26.
But on starboard tack if it's just a little bit choppy, I'm battling to make a fully planing gybe, if it's more than a little choppy I have trouble staying on.

Leaving your moves to late. Foot change followed by rig flip as soon as you are pointing downwind. Do that and the board will do the rest.
