To be honest, I would normally like to have a first time ride on a new board and foil wing in less "trying" conditions, ha!
but figured I would give it a go.
The wind was coming in sets...30+ gusts, then huge holes of no wind, so I was a little nervous at first. I had no time to experiment how it would uphaul if I got myself in that situation? so for the first hour I made sure to jibe in a good puff and if I messed up, I could water start (which it did very well).
After a few runs the board felt super light underfoot and the 68 wing had plenty of lift. Later that day I did mess up a jibe and hit a wind hole, and even though I was in voodoo chop hell, I had no problems uphauling...(I weigh around 205 lbs/92 kilos with wetsuit & gear).
Even when schlogging in the holes, I kept my weight away from the nose of the board it was stable and soon gave me the confidence that if the wind shuts off completely that I could plod home with no worries. The gusts was way to strong for my JP 135, I contemplated it when first rigging up but decided to go all in using the SS wizard 125, and I am glad I did.
The infinity 84 is a game changer, by far the easiest foil I have used in light winds and takes you to next level. Thanks for the link by the way, lots of interesting info in that thread, great stuff.
