So much fun carving and flying down the faces of 1m swells in 12 knots and an absolute blast in 25 knots and 2-3m swells.
I reckon it's a game-changer - encourage all windfoilers to give it a go. We don't have great waves in summer but we do have awesome windswells.

Any of the crew on a different foil? I'm intrigued and the slingshot looks great but my car is already crowded with foil crap.

Do those wings only work good for the surf, Or could they also work for light wind? 7/8 knots?

Just got the SS infinity 76 and 84 foil in and took out the 76 for its first session on Monday...10-18 at first then built to 30 gusts. We don't have the swells you do (wish we did) but I can definitely imagine how much fun it would be :) Incredibly fun foil

I can foil in about 10 knots with the Slingshot HoverGlide standard Infinity 76 wing and a 6m sail.
I haven't tested it much but perhaps 9 knots with a 7m. I'm 80kgs.
That's on the Slingshot Wizard 105L board which is only 1.7m and has no initial glide.
I'm guessing if I went back to using my 2.28m Isonic 121, I might get up in 8 knots.

I would try the Infinity 84 wing if I needed to foil in lighter winds - rather than go bigger than 7m.

Jesper says the carbon Ghost Whisper has similar light wind capabilities to the Infinity 76.

We might get some light wind the next few days (depends if we get rain as it will kill it off).

Heard great reports regarding the 84 and it'll be interesting to see how much low wind speeds we can take it?

i was looking for a foil that could give me great lift and would foil through gybes & quick turns and for me the Slingshot infinity wing ticks all those boxes.

It's a very fun and stable set up and gives you the confidence to push to the next level. I'm looking forward to trying other Slingshot wings (front and rear) they have a very nice selection to choose from.

It would be interesting to see how little wind the 84cm Slingshot Infinity wing would need.
Currently the 76cm has heaps of lift,, (and with control)

From what I can see the other guys getting out of their 76cm wing setup and my own experience, then down to 10-12 knots wind with a 5.8-6.0 is no problem (riders around 80-85kg). Boards is the Slingshot Wizard 125 and 105L and slalom boards around 125L

There seams to be a 'sweat size' of 5.8-6.0 range for the low wind - for the free ride style of foiling, with the above wings.
The racers on full carbon foils and wide race boards would be on 7.0-10,0 in the same conditions. Just to compare,,

The Slingshot Ghost Wisperer 101 - Carbon is a superb smooth ride. It nearly gets going as easy as the alu setup with 76cm wing.
I still use both the Alu and carbon. Like pointed out above the Alu Hoverglide has the ability to change the front wing to different set ups. (about 5-6 different options).

Still no wind at the moment but Sunday and next week looking good.

Here is the 84 infinity against the 2018 wing. I also have the larger rear wing (48) if that doesn't get you flying , I'm not sure what else will. Ha!

Dutchies WA - epic day, SSW 22-26 knots & powerful wind-swells.

Saw Peter cranking big downwinders and Simon confidently carve 6 fully foiling gybes in succession, awesome skill in today's mega-chop
All of us a tad overpowered with 4m/4.2m sails.
Simon's new Simmer Tricera 4.2 looks like the perfect down-winding sail - super powerful yet easy to depower.

Our downwind angles look similar but your upwind angles are extreme, presumably close to what kite foilers are doing.

Can you carve the swells downwind or do you go too fast and outrun them?
I imagine it'd be like trying to wave-ride with a slalom board

Haven't tried going slow JJ :))
the millennium wing (1000 wide) has a real low stall speed and can be carved at low speeds so possible but not really what it was deigned for. I have a super cruiser on order, that will be a lot better for the twisty stuff.

Spent couple days on the infinity 84 wing.

'Kin hell its gone to the next level.

Sunday I used 7.8 in 5-11 mph, borderline wind for anything! later that day it picked up, Same wing on a 5.7 in 17 mph and today 5.0 in 10-22 mph.

Heres a snippet from the super light Sunday session...First time cracking gybes in sub 10. The beauty of it is, as soon as it picks up it gets even better (more video to edit from today as well).

Hard to tell on that one. we foil Inland super gusty fresh water. It's taken us over a year to dial in for the sub 10 breeze.

Maybe on an ocean driven swell it's possible on a 6.0 (depending on rider weight and board choice)...But for us the minimum sail is a cambered 7.5. With timing and good pumping technique.

Top trip, big kms - enjoyed your tracks on the video

What kit are you using and what were the conditions on the day? Are you surfing the wind-swells back downwind?

Stoked to see others downwinding

I was with a carbon race foil, formula board and 8.6 sail.
The swell was big enough sometimes to be surfed but it was fairly difficult with that gear (I could see all the times I've crashed when zooming in on the track ).There was between 10 to 15 knts with a strong rip.2m swell with 8s period.

The 84 has just about 2 cm, see the last two on the pic.
Not that it would matter at all, cool rides, i just wondered.

Looking at the vid at 0:10 ist looks like the 76, which has about 10 cm centimeters of tube behind the wing edge.
The 84 has just about 2 cm, see the last two on the pic.
Not that it would matter at all, cool rides, i just wondered.

In the morning it was the super light wind I was using the 84.. (I had the mast mount cam on) late in the afternoon the wind picked up and I swapped out to the 76. I was capturing the overall equipment in the first few seconds so it's possible that was the 76 when I edited it all together.

From using both wings now at my weight (90 kilos) there is significant more lift in light winds using the 84, I was on par with a fellow foiler on the Horue biplane and he's 20 kilos lighter.

What's your impression of the Biplane? Worth a try if one already owns the XLW and LW wings?

A friend of mine, who weighs 200 pounds, foils with a 7.0 and 84 wing. He gets it up and going in 10 mph wind, with nary a whitecap in sight.

yes it seems it works very well. My mate was using 2 x Extra low wind wings and was Foiling up in light ripples. He is pretty darn good at the light wind stuff and very efficient with pumping but he did say that the double wing made a difference.

Down side to the double wing was gybing and that's where I have the edge the Slingshot 84 is by far the best wing I have ever gybed.
