Learn to pump. Is a foil wing for lighter winds an option vs. a larger sail? I'm ~59kg using the SS i84 in light (sub 11kts) with a 5.5M sail on a 110L board. ~7kts a couple to few pumps gets me foiling. Guessing once the SOG is ~5kts that huge wing starts lifting. Friend is slogging on a board with +30L more volume, a 7M sail and i99. But he doesn't like to pump and weighs close to 90kg. Prefers, hopes for a gust and/or swell to generate lifting speed.

30kg more also means 30l water displacement. Therefore his slogging is also a bit slower than yours. 7qm is also my favorit for light wind (@95kg). Slogging speed is 2-3.5kn. Take off I would aggree is somewhere >5kn <7kn. Don't know better, I have to pump to get going.
Feel the gust coming and bear off gets you +0.5kn velocity.
Light backhand pumps another +1kn. So dependent on your starting speed(3.5) and slight gust giving you another 0.5kn gain your are already fast enough.
Dependent on how much more energy you need add either some foil pumps with your back food or start a few(!) full body pumps. If you feel acceleration you made it. Otherwise technique of the last part needs to be improved or simply the puff is gone already.

Some of these comments are not applicable to IQfoil set up, smaller sail could be fine for freeride foils but not for IQfoil. You could first play with your set that includes using +1 shim and moving your sail mast. When you position the sail mast forward, it is harder to foil up in light wind conditions. Therefore, try moving back your sail mast. If these do not work, you could get bigger front wing like 1000.

Does anyone know the takeoff speed of the IQ-Foils? With 900ccm but pretty long fuselage for better leverage I would only expect 1-2kn more would be required.

I think somewhere around 9kts of board speed but it's very unstable until you accelerate to 13-14.

That's with 115+ at 89kg
