When Tatty smokes Nico in PWA on the Z-foil I might take a bit more notice but right now in the real world as an average joe on an Ali fuse I will just suck it up, from past experience I never believe 100% sales quotes on a website, lets hope a well used Z-Foil lasts a lot longer than a Z fin

I hear you, I am just an average joe too, but saltwater is saltwater, and I see how it corrodes aluminum all the time, that is why I went with an all carbon foil.

So AFS was offering the new foil with 95 cm mast as a two part mast/fuselage, and that put me off from getting it. I really like the T-bar design on my old AFS Wind95, super solid and stiff!

So the good news for me is the 95 cm foil is now a one piece mast/fuselage T-bar! I am very happy with my old W95 foil and F1080/F770/S670 wings, but the new 900 wing looks so nice for speed in light winds. My only concern is the 900 wing is 1000 mm wide and my Goya Bolt 135 is 80 cm wide at the widest point, think 76 cm at the front wing, which means the wing will extend out past the board making it easy to hit with my legs, but also wondering if it will be harder to control with a narrow tailed board.

Construction
Made of pre-preg carbon in France, the foil is stiff and light. With pre-preg fabrics, the carbon fiber is directly impregnated with epoxy resin during its manufacture. This guarantees a perfect ratio of epoxy and carbon, and represents the best quality process. Laser cut, then assembled in the form of a stack, the carbon fibers are then positioned in a mold which is mounted at high temperature, providing resistance and durability. From the machining of the molds to the shipment, everything is managed in our company in France, allowing us to have a quality process and guaranteed finish.
What's included? The set comes with three covers: TBAR, front wing and stabilizer. The screws are also included as well as the screwdriver to assemble the foil.

I've had (and still have) both alu & carbon fuse race foils (SB, F4, Loke Race '20, '21 and '22) and think that the main advantage of carbon is the weight gain. there are others too (fewer corrosion issues, and in the case of the monobloc construction, overall longevity -- if properly built ofc, which is the case for Loke), but imo stiffness is more a function of the mast (esp torsional stiffness) than the fuse. monobloc construction is great, but also more complex and thus expensive/less versatile. I've seen (but not yet tried) the Z and it is an impressive piece of craftsmanship.

There is something to be said for monocoque T-bar construction of a one-piece mast-fuse. For a 2017 vintage foil the AFS-2 with one-piece mast-fuse is, by far, the stiffest foil I have ever ridden. (And that includes the latest SABfoil stuff, not including the Kraken.)

In my situation the main disadvantage of the T-bar is the extra space you need for storage and transportation. I shipped mine to Florida. It required a big box. The only way it fits into a foil bag is with the mast sticking out the top.

yes, travel is a bit more complicated in case of monobloc construction, but not so bad in the case of Loke as the T doesn't extend to the full length of the fuselage (as both front wing and stab have a bit of 'fuselage' attached to them)

I have the new W95 with the dismountable fuselage for traveling and I have the new 100 mast and fixed 105 fuselage. I am still getting to grip with my new foils and wings. I have the 900, 700 and 560 front wings and the 240, 200 and a custom rear wings.

The new 105 fuselage adds quite a bit of lift to the wings compared to the 94cm fuselage (as you would expect).

Sailrepair, Wow, that is nice! Once you have time on the water Please let us know what you think of the new foils and wings. What board are you using, and what was your previous foil? Those wings are definitely not for beginners.

How much does the 105 improve lift?, can you go down a sail size, or drop wind range?

I use the foils on Patrik Foil comp 91 and 78 and Partik foil ride 105.
I was on AFS W105 and W95 previously with R660 and R810 wings so I have just updated them. (I also had a W85 with the f1080 (F800) wing.
In the past part of the attraction of the AFS foils were they were "fit and forget" but now on the longer fuselage I am having to mess around with shimming the rear wing since the rear wings were designed for a 94cm fuse.

To give you an idea of the difference the new 105 fuse + the 700 front and 240 rear wings feel like the R810 did on the 94cm fuselage. ie lifts early and with lots of glide. So I would say you can go a wing size smaller with the same sail in the same wind strength.

Luckily I know Kevin Ellway who designs the wings for AFS so if I find something isn't working he tells me what I need to change.

Thank you Sailrepair!, how does the longer 105 fuse affect foiling gybes in general and also the radius of the turn?

Not much difference with the larger R810/900 wings but the 700 sized wings have more glide and more stability longitudinally. As regard the radius - I tend to gybe wide anyway so I have not noticed much difference, I will have a think about that.

On the FoilandCO.com website they show the 240 stabilizer in 10-20 knots for heavier foilers, dependent on wing size. And for over 20 knots, the 200 for everyone.
