So I picked up a second hand board off gumtree
And the tail pad is starting to peel off
I think I have tried every glue/liquid cement under the sun in the past
Has anyone got a special secret sauce they swear by

Normally I'd just tear it off and buy a new one but the rear kicker has only just lifted. It's at that point where it can be rescued.
I'm going to try a Selleys glue and primer

You could also try shoe repair glue - is waterproof and flexible - I have used it with good success. Got the tip from local shaper.

Selleys Kwik Grip. The original brown formula full of solvents, not the new water based clear one.

Yep - what Legion says...

I have glued down lifted tail pad sections that have not re-lifted for years... (I keep my boards until they delaminate).

You can clean the over-glue off with Mineral Turps.

Ive never had any success glueing them. The cost of a tail pad these days is not that bad, if your chasing cheap you can buy them for under $30 so i just don't see the point

But its all good each to their own..

TimKay you can even apply Kwik Grip when the pad is wet (the brown glue, not the clear one. The clear one sucks and won't work especially if wet). Tape the pad down with masking tape or a weight and it'll work. It's contact glue but you can just apply it like normal glue as long as it's held in position while it starts to cure. Easier than the contact method too. You can wipe away excess while it's wet or cut it away with a razor once cured but it always sticks, always works.

I have used Kwik Grip on over 50 deck / tail pads over the years and it is the best (also works on wetsuits some times :-)
