I got nuts and carry on like a pork chop and claim ten pointers when it's ankle high and just a joke. But that seriously is a joke.

Apologies for my poor grammar before. I was rushed but for some reason I can't edit it. But yeah, what I meant to say is we can all claim things with mates in knee high slop. Maybe Parko is with his mates and getting excited. But on the other hand, claiming things is a joke. Remember when the Australian cricket team used to appeal and congratulate LBWs long before the umpire had a good look. Terrible behaviour even if it was out. Where's the respect?

At the end of the day its about getting the best scores you can.

Remember the Andy Irons shot gun claim at Chopes? Still got beaten but thought he won. That made it even dumber imo.

Parko you can't fault him in or out of the water, first wave over scored but that was not his call.

Could you explain how it is not easy to surf? They are professional surfers I thought.

Very tide depending, breaks hard on the reef shelf,if your in the wrong spot at take off you will eat it.

Sorry I had a late edit. These people are professional surfers so I assume that is why it is held there. Chopes looks more like a wave that would prove a challenge than keramas

ACtually the link WA71/Doggie put up the page before with KS was very interesting. He basically explained how the wave changes constantly 0ver the changing of the tide. He took it on the chin and basically just said he didn't evolve quick enough.

Good event and i enjoyed it.. I would love to surf waves like that, but they make it look so much easier and softer than it is..I do think we get a little critical from time to time

I distinctly remember this one time as a 17 year old grom with a mate. Pulled a sick roundhouse, full vert on the rebound at 4' Mrs Porridge's. He was hooting and going on saying it was my best one ever. I acted super cool - "Really? Nah, don't think so. Do those all the time" with the full poker face, despite surfing with him weekly for years so he was fully aware.

I guess I just don't like Parko's personality display, which is a shame because he's a sick surfer.

I can't see the need to "act super cool" around mates. Nothing wrong with sharing a bit of stoke. I much prefer to see guys smiling and having fun in the water than everyone paddling around all serious. I agree with Mac, it's pretty hard to fault Parko and after the crazy surfing he's been doing all week I reckon he's entitled to a claim or two.

Great event and good comments. I think its cool they claim good on the brazos for having a dig. It may be just a bit of their culture / personalities coming to the fore front. Either way it makes it more interesting. I cant say that I claim much but when ever a good wave comes in even if its good just for that day I always let rip with a bit of a hoot. It livens the place up and brings the crew together I reckon.

I surfed with a guy from Reunion today and he was super excitable. Very animated and i thoroughly enjoyed it

A couple others who were ripping and would paddle back out after an epic wave with a big grumpy look on his face. So one wave i said why not smile, that wave was amazing? He did and then it all changed and he seemed to be a different bloke.. (Not that he had anything wrong he just looked so unhappy for the first 30 minutes)
