Yeah and i love it. But its just a bit big at 6'8" for me and a bit slow to be honest in the smaller stuff..I even pulled out the old Super fish the other day but found that a bit better in the small stuff but maybe not enough float, and hard to generate any drive from nothing I'm looking at a SP just need time to get out and pick it up.

Honestly it's got me fked what fins you've got in the small stuff would matter, it's volume you want. IMO.

The fins I were running were way to loose causing me all sorts of problems when it got a touch bigger or just putting too much into your turns...with the big wide arse it does not take much to let go.

I was running these ones

I am now enjoying these ones - lots more drive and hold. Nice and stiff.

Ted you're running the Kellys in a medium now? Would you suggest the same for me. Im 90 kilos and very small on a 5'10"

Tigerz how about your fin set up? What are you running and if you don't mind your size and weight to board?

I hate all these fin choices. I think i will order some online but was looking for something for this weekend..I am too impatient.

Picked up the board. very happy. I also got a set of Simon Anderson Fins SA4.

They should work for the weekend and can then start looking for good prices online..

$155 for a set of fins in the shops is just too much. Especially when you chop and change. You could spend $400 just trying fins out

hey jb my free range eggs are similar to the potato, and I have found that the combo of M7 in front and M3 in the rears is a great starting point for wide tails....its a large set of fins, but the little boards are so loose that I think you are better to fin them up rather than down to get used to the design...you wont waste your money on the M7 M3 combo either you will find that they are keepers and will work well in a wide variety of boards

Hey JB
sorry for the late reply,
I'm 5'8" and 67 kg I've got the future controllers on a 5'8" SP, if anything I should of gone a bit smaller with the board, but that was the only size I could get at the time any I'm very happy with it.
I find the fins hold very well and give the board lots of speed, but this threads got me thinking though, might try some smaller fins a loosen the tail up a bit.
cheers
oh yeah I got my fins from the states from ebay http://stores.ebay.com/Shred-Factor?_trksid=p2047675.l2563

Am i the only one here who finds fin size pretty insignificant .
I think its just a marketing ploy to make money.
Going back a few years with good old glassed in fins, did anyone give a rats what they had on their board?

i was a firm believer that fins didn't make a difference until i went from the AM2 fins to the K2.1's. What a difference! i couldn't pick much in the rake and thickness of the fins but it was like a whole new board

Previously, I would have agreed with you. But I put my Simon Anderson performance cores on my epoxy fish day one and it was awful, skating and sliding out bottom turns and reos all over the place - nearly took the board back to the shop for a trade...

Put back the placky beige ones and sooo much better. Suspect the PC's were too stiff for a stiff board...

Thanks heaps Mr Godard. I do love the look of your boards. For that matter i would have liked the Katana Skud also but was chasing second hand so the bigger brands came through. Too much wind ATM just hanging for anything

Fin boxes do a lot of that stuff that's been mentioned up there^^ you can even use the same fins

Might have to hold an inquiry into these performance enhancing fins

If no one care back then we'd still be riding single fins.

First surf today. It was messy and windy and waves going everywhere

First wave straight drop and in, second wave go to turn a little and ended up doing a 180 turn and of the back. Third wave i nose dived and went over the falls upside down(that was before i even stood up)[}:)] I think the lifeguard was pissing himself watching on as i was just North of the flags

Eventually got a few, and it felt after i got my Front foot right i was off and running.. Buoyant though and after a little over an hour i went in feeling what could only be described as sea sick

All in all it was nice to be short again. I found you could tuck it in easy and even just take straight drops (bigger sets just closing out) with out nose diving. I will predict that this board will hurt me. I landed just near or almost on it too many times for my liking

Will be nice to get into some cleaner waves..

Jeeeeez i'm bored so i thought id bore a few of you. I changed the fins over to a set of controllers that i picked up brand new for $130 from the Scarb Long Board room. Thanks guys. Tried them out on the weekend in a smallish waist high point break.

i will say this board is a lot of fun. Paddles like nothing and runs on virtually the smallest bump. Very responsive and love the little snappy feeling you get in the turns All and all i like it very much

Loose women? You just like to slide on the bottom turn.

Actually it was a bit more on the top. Run along then Slide into lip and then almost stall and take the drop, felt greatIt was nice to have a wave after wave the same to try and practise a particular turn. Probably looked like crap but was super enjoyable to ride. Actually i really find the board super loose. After getting back of a 6'8"

ahh, just have a bit of nose around, but i saw this. back then you just wrote the board off. now you can get most boards to work to some degree less its an out and out dud.

i had fins glassed in when i was getting mf models board off dh, but i had had practically the same board a few times so i knew what i wanted. i definitely think they are better glassed in but you have to be so sure.

so at that stage it was good because it was one aspect i didn't have to change or think about them

cheers
