Big thanks to all that helped carry me over the hill yesterday morning after badly landing a floater and breaking my lower leg in 3 places ,don't know who everyone was but sure appreciate all the effort to get me to the Ambulance.

Faaark. All the best in your recovery mate. It is hard to think about it at this stage but you will be back rippin it up before you know. I shattered a femur years back and was back to being the crap surfer i was before the accident in no time at all. Thoughts with you today mate.

Thought I landed it ok

I think the explosion of foam at the bottom of the wave after I landed must have Had something to do with it

Yeah that's bit a bad luck Dave. Speedy recovery, time out of the surf isn't much fun. You'll only be out for 6-8 weeks

ill be back by then after 6 months out

So what hurt the most, breaking your leg or them cutting off your wettie, or do you have a new spring suit now :)

How did you know ! asked them to cut my NEWsteamer above the knee just before they knocked me out

dont worry she"s trying already !! feel like a caged animal just had 2 weeks R&R dont feel like layin around for another 2

Maybe they need to employ some of your board technology when repairing your leg- for more strength and spring

Now that the old fella has generated some interest through this thread, I can proudly supply some photo's of him when we got him to the Ambulance..... Notice the clenched fist, that's when he was saying "if you give me pain killers now I will smack you one! I'm going to need them more when Mandy gets to the hospital."
