I use a similar but much subtler design for my longboards. I find that they paddle easier, take off easier, and the slightly hulled V through the middle loosens it in turns. That could be where the reports of tippy come from. They also go like stink! I like it, but I don't nose ride.

Im confident (which is easy when you dont know anything) but Steve is really keen to ride it. It will be under the feet off a few people and team riders. he did tell me a secret about some of his models which made me a wee bit more confident. So who knows.

I do know i will be in the factory tomorrow or friday to have a play with the design with him

did not go to see SDR today as i had a pup too feed

So when my good banks turn sour my way i will then vist mr clearwater

saw SDr with the pup last week and talked boards.

We have a few different ideas on this board,yet strangely enough a few that were the same and a couple that made me smile.

The UNR (ultimate nose rider) will be 9ft. It will have the double flyer that steve uses on his Macca model and my favorite tail on my beesting and mini macca model.

Im pretty sure i have got my way on the hull in the nose, or more that in the end i explained myself in a way that steve understood what the fark i was talking about

Its gonna have channels. Not the al byrne type ones,just a set that steve has been playing around with( i have a earlier version in my single fin)

Im back this week and hopefully i will have some file pics that i can post

well i should change it to ultimate HP nose rider

thinking is i love my hp ,yet in my world its pretty hard to to get on the nose. so i thought that this would be the perfect board to test the waters

the flyers are proven to work in other models,and i think a different version will go nuts on this board.

The channels are not the conventional ones. Something steve has been playing with.....and when he said channels well i just made a pitch yes noise

If I was to change anything I would lift the tail about 10 mil.

Ive a 9/6 board. I call my banana. Single fin but with heaps of nose rocker. Great on overhead waves as it cant nosedive but for noseriding it stalls due to pushing against the wave. To much rocker is not a good thing.

I decided to have a go at an NR and even sold a board to finance the build. Then yesterday my world came crashing down around me when I discovered that the Sydney agent does not carry the rocker that I had spent weeks deciding upon

I called the maker up on the QLD border and they said they don't usually stock them either, but they would be willing to blow one for me and ship it down with the next agents order

Now it's just a matter of trying to convince the agent to order it but he's not too keen on answering his phone

Ideally I would love to just drive up and pick it up myself in combination with a surf trip but that's not due until late September

That's a bugger ob, really like to see you do a noserider, I know you can do it

A rolled bottom will also make side to side motion harder to control...so basically I think you will probably end up with something that is pulling you down and trying to slip out from under your feet

thats what i think too .. think displacement hull , sits low in the water, but some guys properly rip on full hull bottom logs , heaps faster as theres no drag from the concave lifting the board , tail rocker is gonna be your friend here

That garage looks like its needs a clean Puts some of the Breezer's poor lawns to shame !

I have a rolled bottom - old style - on my 10 footer. Works a treat until it gets to head high and super hollow - then its a nightmare. Great fun though and entertaining for others to watch you look like a goose

I actually tried something like this once, my 10'6" munoz is a notoriously bad noserider, so I moulded a new slip on section around the nose and made it more bulbous along with a foam filling, and some conc on the underside. Once on the board, it would not come off without some effort.

The board would still pearl just as much as before, but it also stopped turning.

I do a lot of that kind of stuff, just for sh!ts and giggles, but I never tell anyone that I doing it because I know it never works.

I did break that rule recently when I showed Tux and Ted a pic of a double fin I made, it actually did work, but not as good as a normal single fin.

And then one day it will work and you'll be a millionaire genius laughing at the rest of us

Not likely, even if I did stumble across something worthwhile, I have no entrepreneurial skills, no business acumen, no competitiveness and I'm too old. but it had too much tail lift and it used to pearl often (not that my inability have anything to do with that ) when I got towards the tip.

Don't think you can go past flat rocker..widenose and wide square tail..and length 9/6 +...

I like seeing. What works for some people and is a failure to others.

This board is going to be a full hp longboard,so stop with the rolled bottom etc etc.

This will be heavily rockered with low rails and a slightly pulled in nose. Double flyers will be the same as SDR Maca model but with some new channels he has been playing with.

This set up is the whole reason I want to go with this "cathedral hull" type set up..

That new NR I made does do the job as far as keeping me up there, on the right wave, but once again, I'm not happy with the way it turns, so the diamond tail has given me no advantage over the square tail.

I'm actually going to reshape the tail into an area pin to see what happens.

That's the beauty of a home made board, there's little to lose.

A true dedicated log will always do the job better than a HP , the glide and stability are unbeatable , but i don't believe you need an overly wide nose 18" is pretty good , not too much swing weight and still sits well in the pocket ! Wide Square tail with a good helping of tail rocker is a big plus for stability and helping create drag, give her some hips as well as some fine 50/50 rails !! just my thoughts though every one has different opinions on getting tip time!

i agree that a log will do it better...BUT what i am trying to achieve is to make a hp noseride way better than what they do. A true hp longboard is bull**** to noseride,watch the crew that can,those peeps feet are flying.

Since a hp boards nose likes to sink so much im here to change it hence my hull,i want it too want lift or plane like a boat so when you are standing on it ,it will even out and noseride lol.....well thats my simple version
