Yeah Ted at that stage I am pretty sure it was the last boxing tent still running in Aus nothing like seeing young jackeroos getting knocked unconscious being brought back by St Johns ambulance then smashing beer and bundys for the rest of the night their hangovers must have been epic Kid Valentine, The Maree mauler, The caveman dance around the ring for 3 x 1 minute rounds then 9 times out of 10 knockout who they were fighting to funny

Paw Paw ointment helped clean up a sea ulcer of mine that got infected a few years back. Still have a good scar but at least it got me back in the water.

I will see if I can find a link for it as I think you would enjoy it. The doco was about how they were closing down and that it had been the last boxing tent in Australia for sometime. What a bizarre life they all led - the old fella and his wife and been driving around Australia doing their tent for 30 plus years. They said that the Birdsville was their biggest event - 3 days of action in the tent. I could not believe how those fellas just kept stepping up for another fight. One bloke had never lost a fight!!!!

funny about that a mate from work went there years ago and got locked up the night before the fights so he pleaded to the copper to let him out for the fight. He told the copper to back him and put the dollars on.Any way mate from work ko'd their prize fighter and Brophy kept hounding him to join the troop. He declined as he had a good number at work.

Its a great boys trip away swags, red dirt, bundy awesome Pub. If someone went down and look like they would be killed if they got to their feet Brophy would hold his hand up and say how many fingers? They would say 5 but he was missing the top of his little finger he would say 4 and a half and kick them out of the ring
You never saw any of his boxing troup at the pub funny that
