Hi there,
I have been surfing for almost two years now, taking lessons or solo. I am riding a longboard, most of the time in Wanda, but I am open to any spot as I have a car. I would be awesome if I can find a surf buddy to improve my surfing skills and help to motivate in rainy days.

corsu...when you see someone on longboard, paddle over with a big smile and start a chat. everything will be fine after that

If you're ever on the Northeren Beaches, drop me a line. Don't often get to Wanda, although I hear it's pretty decent for a longboard.

Chrispy is right, say g'day to people you meet in the surf, eventually you'll find a few who you get on with and exchange details so you can hook up weekends etc.

spending a lot of time at one break is not a bad thing.

You get to know the locals, and they get to know you.

Without any effort at all, you eventually become a nodding acquaintance, that then leads to a greeting, that then leads to a discussion about the weather the wave the other guys in the water, your grandmothers lumbago, etc.

It may take a couple of years, but it always happens.

Ha dude I am a shire boy and surf green hills great area for learning long boarding on as small day on a big day it gets taken over by shorties they are like wasps coming out of a nest annoying little pests.

Mate watch the movie on the Mctavish web page of "matt chojnacki - wax head" in the bay this dude rocks on a longboard.

Yeah **** oz post.... Sewn disappeared in the ether... But sight and sound is on the rounds?

I can't even get a copy of sewn,
I emailed the guy in NZ and he wouldn't send one...

Thanks boys for the warm welcome and good advices. I am going to stick to my spot and I am sure that I will find some buddies.
Also big day for me today, I gave up my old board I learnt on for a Jackson zx2. Christmas time!! can't wait to learnt some old school tricks!

Mac the one Chrispy is talking about was a replacement one I sent up, it wasn't "sewn", I couldn't get a replacement one sent over. The one I sent was 'sight and sound". If its dissappeared let me know I have another version of it I'll copy and send up.

ok so does someone want to BORROW ( to receive something from somebody temporarily, expecting to return it) my copy of SEWN? I need it back by Christmas as I have a mate over from the UK who is looking forward to watching it.

I have to say that you guys over here in the longboard room are a friendly bunch. I'm pretty sure if a newby in the short board room asked for some company he'd get a different response unfortunately.
