Did you notice the odd position of the centre fin when you looked at it Mac?

in all seriousness - why would it not have a fin box in it - saving money or weight? One of the shapers around these parts who makes a nice board was giving me some tips re single fin designs on Friday arvo and told me that no matter what I did to make sure it has a fin box in it because he reckons most boards can be made to work with the right fin in the right place and the fin box gives you that flexibility. Although I do not put fin boxes in my short boards and normally only ever ride them as quads despite a 5 fin configuration

So why?? Do they have it that dailed in? Do they provide fins with the purchase?

yeah comes with quads and the back fins a double foiled.

i would probably use a s9 centre thou as a thruster set and they do comes in plug or box set up.

when i was surfing those dc 8'8 i knew the board well enough to go plugs all round.

pretty sure dtm goes plugs to. he has his shapes fairly well dialed.

i'm happy as it is. it's a pretty pulled in tall and i reckon that 'sic' guy knows what he is doing

cheers

Thanks for that LL. I am incredibly lazy when its comes to fins....so fcs or futures are much preferred over a box (for boards only). In fact with my new board I was told to make sure I marked the fin when I stuck it in so I would know what spot it worked well in....well I was so happy with the initial spot that I forgot to mark it.....had to take the fin off to transport her and then spent an hour and a half of my surf on Friday moving it around trying to re-find the sweet spot.
