perfectly good reason to have a middie. its the board i use to surf the alley when it's more surf able then log days. a bit of paddle power, a bit of glide over the fat sections yet still short enough to get in close to the rocks for those sucky drops.
surfing a short board at the alley is a waste of time 90% of the time and yet on a longboard you feel like you are wasting good waves sometimes

hell no, every kind of water craft finds its way out into the lineup. personally i used to take a oc1 out in the right conditions sometimes
alley does have a pretty hardcore shortboard and longboard crew.
i usually find it easier to get waves at coolie then the alley. however snapper is tight
