Doesn't matter what tips are put forward, I still look like a horse galloping up then falling off.

Learnt the legrope one the hard way too.

Thanks for the advice LL, I just rushed out to the garage and checked the new board against the new leggy (got it for free with the board, and it's my favorite brand, O&E, with a nice big loop to grab) and it's a good 16 inches longer than the board

Okay, I'll make another admission, I only put that new leggy on a half hour ago when I finished the wax job and I know perfectly well how long it is, I just wanted another excuse to go out there an look at it again yes, I know how tragic I sound

Lol, I had this problem a while ago. Could never seem to hang ten toes over the edge and it only clicked after I watched a video of my self longboarding. Took the leggy off, hang ten straight away and now have a longer rope. But still hate using a leggy, trip too easily

Steer from middle and front? Never once tried that, I always pivot over the back fin. Right on it in fact. I simply can't turn a board anywhere else, I can steer yes, turn no. Send the fin down to me LL! I will give it a go for you and send it back up!

Me and Dad only over take our 666 out if it is like a foot, no bigger. But, we random surf on it, so much fun. He steers from the back while I hang five or ten on the nose

Every time I walk forward I end up burying the nose and going over. I can't seem to get the tail to hold.

Mind you it's a performance longboard so not perfect and I'm usually a little to far ahead of the break.

Some technique practice needed I think...

A nice big nose rider fin will help. And yeah, technique practice too. Start with cheater 5s then move further up the board as you get more confident. I have only started getting hang tens this last 12 months but I have goin to put ten toes over its a mental thing, you can't be scared of wrecking the wave because it is likely you will come off but just as likely you won't I usually put five over first to see if I am holding in then step into the ten!

Good luck with it!

Too much tip area.? But your right those fins aren't designed to be turned of the nose they are supposed to drag and hold in a straight line.

Try a big arsed dolphin. With some flex.
