The other school of kneeboarding(and modern surfing for that matter!) came about via the Steve Lis Fish. Fins back, a foot or so shorter than fins forward boards and ridden off the tail.
Smicko - thanks for this explanation. I have often wondered about these things but never really looked into it. There are two blokes locally with kneelo's and I often wondered why one of them has fins so far up the board and the other so near the tail. They seem like two different species / approaches. I actually saw one of them this arvo as I walked back down the beach after my session and had a chuckle to myself as I contemplated the new knowledge I had picked up this week. Cheers.
