Hi Al

No problemo mate, please do come back it was amazing to see you out in the water.

I was having a beer with billy mclean from mctavish the other evening, he was telling me about the San Juan you picked up at Noosa. Sounds amazing dude hope u took it back to the states with u and we see a video of u shredding sometime soon

Great to hear from you, keep up the awesome work

Cheers Mick

Do you really think this is the real ALEX

I smell a rat

well here is the thing, if it was a rat/troll. wouldnt they be stirring and causing trouble rather than trying to keep the peace?

Hey BigSpazz.
Now that is gold. When 'almost' everyone can share, especially when they are the 'guns', great memories. That would have been a blast.
Unfortunately doesn't always happen that way, when you get the 'also rans', or the wannabe's arrive and want to take over, on their way home from the comps.
A few years ago, about this time of the year, we had a great couple of weeks at your local, mainly surfing down at Clarkes. Eveyone got plenty of waves, no problem. One afternoon, about midway between Clarkes and the pass, the cameras arrived, a group of obviously talented longboarders, both male and female joined our group of about 15 surfers. They proceded to snake, drop in and just be a pain in the ar#e. The worst were the females, they thought they could do what ever they wanted. I don't mind sharing waves, but within reason. In the end, my mate and just left, after a few choice words.
Never been so pissed off in the surf.
I'm glad your session was a positive one.
PS. Is Jack Johnson doing the Blues Festival?

yer it was a epic moment, alot of poeple did choose to hop out and watch, smarter decision i suppose.

no news yet of Jack Johnson doing blues, he does holiday in Byron Bay atleast 3 times a year. so no surprise seeing him in byron, was just a shock in the water. Dude can surf too

Hey. Can he what. He was going on to the pro circuit, except went the music direction instead. Being a unashamed fan, I'm glad he made that decision.

last night was surfing the pass with the locals and the tiny 1 ft of swell. Caught a wave down the beach only to end my ride right next to a guy pushing a kid on to a wave, this fella being none other than Mr Jack Johnson. He said "hey" i said "hey" and i paddled off a little star struck. Always been a huge fan

then sitting out there last hour of light, i turn around to see Mr Alex Knost paddling out on a 5ft looking Belly board/ short egg thing which he proceeded to shread on and yes noseride somehow.

sitting there minding my own business then who paddles in and sits next to me, Mr Joel Tudor

then out paddles Jarred Mell

then Ellis Ericson, they came in a crew of about 15, there were heaps more famous faces but dont know their names. Plus famous shapers too

then i was thinking wow ok this is rad as i watched them surf, out comes the actor out of the movie THOR, the big aussie dude Chris Hemsworth.

as if it cant become anymore of a celebrity surf session who paddles out! a one mister Kelly Slater paddles out and somehow manages to shred on 1ft of nothing

was mental, such amazing surfers. Joel Tudor would have to be my fav out of the bunch, the guy can do some ridiculous things on next to nothing. Plus has amazing energy and positivity

to be honest Knost was an arrogant wank who pissed off more locals then pleased them, dropped in, blocked everyone and honestly i wasnt pleased with his respect in the water towards other surfers who rightfully waited their turn.

wow what a backflip big spazz from arrogant wank too please come back mate it was good to see you in the water. made me laugh mate

not a backflip, just respect the mans apology. Calling somoene a arrogant wank isnt bad either, i can think of alot more 4 letter words to call him if i was that angry. It was more OMG WOW AL KNOST IS HERE..............(5 mins later)............Ok he is acting like abit of a wank. Quick apology and clearing some stuff up and im a fan again. Being in the spotlight all the time u cant be perfect 24/7 so i totally understand and respect his apology

Sounds like a fun session Big Spazz and its good to see that the other issues have been worked out. I once had the pleasure of meeting JJ and found him to be an incredible bloke in real life as was his wife. He was very welcoming and gave Surfirder a big boost on one his tours a few years back. I had a super day hanging out with his crew and being there for sound check was insane. Everyone one i met on his team were just stoked on life. It was a real eye opener.
