Shamefull - tried to reply to the old thread, and no one in here has had a beer since July last year, too old to reply to.
I keep coming back to Coopers Sparkling, but trying to do Monday to Thursday off the beer at the moment.
With varying levels of success......

Toohey's New. 99% sugar free, which means it's good for you. And there are trivia questions in the lids, so it makes you smarter.
I will soon be a healthy fricken GENIUS.

^^^With lots of free sugar!!!

I'm finishing the remnants of a 6 pack of Corona that was left in my fridge.
Then back to the Sapporo.

Speaking of 'imported' beer, Asah! superdry is produced in China. Juss sayn'.

Asahi Super Dry was my number one Japanese beer at first coz the big azz novelty 500ml cans are so widely available in vending machines across the country. I prefer it in kegs though, probably coz it comes out colder than the vending machines or the 7 eleven shelves.

Really like Sapporo beers in Japan. I bought a carton when it was on special here which was brewed by Coopers which I though would be a good omen. I didn't enjoy it. It was a few years ago, maybe a bad batch. Just seemed way way full flavoured & very different to the Japanese version. Sapporo have a few extra Sapporo types available on Hokaido that are really good. Its always been cold & snowing when I've been there for snowboarding a few times. Which probably makes a difference, full flavoured beers are better on colder days I think.

My favourite non craft Japanese beer is Suntory, The Premium Malts. Really nice balanced flavour & you seem to be able to have a decent session drinking it without having a massive hangover the next day like a lot of Japanese beers tend to give you.

At home though, after Coopers Pale Ale have continued to break my max price policy of charging over $50, I've been drinking a new beer since April. Its a surprisingly good cheap beer called "Hammer 'n Tongs, Bitter" by "Freeman. The cans are only 330ml, but you get a 30 can block for $38 instead of a 24 stubbie carton for $57.

So yeah enjoying the HammerNTongs along with a couple of Ports & Shiraz thrown into the mix. Hadn't had Port since I was about 21 & thought I'd try it again for something different this winter. Had to ask the shop if they stocked it coz they're now called Tawny. Same kinda deal like with champaign & sparkling.

Look forward to getting into a few after one more nghtshift tonight

Home brew - well, that sells itself short and over describes my role. My local home brew store sells all grain, all hops fresh wort. All I do is add water and yeast, ferment and then keg (and bottle). Currently have a pale ale (vienna malt, galaxy hops), a double IPA x red ale and a german rye on tap... plus countless bottles of varied beers.

If'n I'm at the bottle-o buying, my go-to's are typically sours. Love a good sour, particularly when the weather heats up. Not hugely keen on the overly fruity one's though.

Cheers, Nozza (and the rest of you). According to the interweb, Thursday is 'lille fredag' anyway ... a Danish expression which literally means 'little Friday'.
Yes, you are right, I am drinking myself smarter with Tooheys New. More knowledge in every stubby.

I'm clearly too much of a piss-head.
The pale and double IPAxRed are gone. Still got the rye on tap, along with a nice simple wheat (like the Redback) and a pacific ale.
Got a keg of Amber and a keg of American-style pale, patiently waiting in the wings.... and another pacific went in the fermenter today.

What am I drinking right now? The Rye. but also been drinking the wheat and the pacific today. It's Sunday, after all.

Might switch to some wild turkey after dinner, but that's a different topic.

Afternoon nap to pause the consumption.
