I'll tell you what blows my tiny little mind... online shopping... Ordered a wettie jacket yesterday morning and it arrived in a courier (free express post) this arvo. $160 down to $56 ... lovely soft rubber .... and yes, yes... a tail that looks like it might need docking some time soon...
wavelength said.. That tail does looks like it will snip right off....
then I might list the offcut in the buy and sell section.
Geez that backflap thingo just doesn't give me any confidence at all I'm nervous
im with you pup i know i will seem silly,BUT,is that flap or beaver tail that you all call it....it has buttons,is it suppose to rip under your nuts and and connect to something in the front? ohhhhhh i so hope not
Hey JB... For me it's a couple of things: mainly, as you say, nice water temp but cold wind. Also, being a Qlder, it's often all you need, rather than suiting up.
(And a front zip is good for 666 paddling cos you can unzip to cool down if you want to.)
I don't need any assistance in the looks department.
And the other thing for me was that it was $56. I liked others without the tail that were 100 more, but I couldn't justify that. Given there's no stitching along the bottom edge, a sharp Stanley knife could easily convert it to unhipster.
Oh, and the only other ones on sale were TCSS in the colours "apple, sage or tinsel."
Maybe a stupid question but not being a long boarder what is the benefit of a jacket Or is it just more the water temp is nice but wind cold
Or is it simply about the look
They are all Banana Benders and don't need much rubber. I surfed Snapper in July once and got lots of comments about my boardies. Boys are soft. It was as warm as the water gets in our summer. Classic all time session with magnificent barrels. 2 1/2 hours and was just starting to shiver when I came in.
