1967 Tracker

1967 doesn't sound right, late 1968 or even 1969 would sound more plausible.

The earliest Trackers I can find are from Gordon Woods and 1968 and the designers were Bob and Nat. Bob was also doing them for Keyo in about the same year, through to about 1969 when he also shaped them for Dale and Van Stratten.

When you think about it, 67 was the year that Bob took the wide Vee bottoms to Hawaii for their short-lived piece of surfing history, so I can't really see Bennett's being well ahead of the times.

A while back before the Tracker re-issues started appearing Feral Dave at Diverse made himself a model he called the GM.
Since he's a longboarder he wanted a board that he could ride in some more demanding waves where the 9'ers could be a handful.
Saw his first one he made and then snaffled a tastey 7'6" x 22" x 3" with a subtle V bottom, pintail and very nicely turned down rails.
Mine's a 2+1 and I rode it in the biggest swell we had last year that let me make some serious waves with ease and went really well with bonzer sides and a 6.5" raked centre fin.
Well worth a look if you:
A. Aren't loaded with cash.
B. Don't feel the need to go the full historical throwback model.

Trust me, it looks even better now!
Just have to find an opportunity to take em out and line them up for a shot.
I'll wait until the new (used) MC islander is in my grubby paws to do that.
Now about those Trackers.
Isn't there some other clips around featuring them?
Maybe on the McT blog if I recall correctly.

the young bloke here could be wrong with his dates, but Geoff McCoy was shaping for Bennets from 67-69 so it could be one of his.
