I was out in 4-6ft beachies yesterday and got a cramp followed by a solid set to really finish me off
I got pumped!!
Lucky I got a decent wave on Saturday as well otherwise I would be pissed

Anyone get cramps and have a way of fixing them so they dont come back?
I seem to be getting calf cramps alot and Im over it!!

go to woollies or Coles and buy a tub of ' Staminade' it will be with the tubs of gatorade. I get chronic cramps and muscles soreness from footy and surfing , staminade unlike gatorade or powerade has magnesium in it which helps prevent cramps and muscle soreness during surfing. Seriously it is a life saver i usually have 2-3 glasses a day otherwise i cannot do anything i cramp up that bad and this stuff is amazing how well it works. in my work place there are alot of bike riders who do like 30-50kms a day and they also swear by it.

when you see it some super markets have 2 types a green one and a blue one. Get the green one as it contains the magnesium, the blue one has calcium

If you get them all the time mayb get some magnesium tablets, save you drinking all the sugar and extra crap in Gatorade.

Doggie magnesium is the go I suffer from bad cramps to. I have had twin cramps in both calves once and just had to sort of stay in the foetal position and get washed into shore and wait till they went my calves were sore for weeks after. Now when I am sitting for a wave bend your toes back as far as you can and stretch your calves while your sitting there

Jeez its good to here that other people suffer from cramps as well i thought i was on my own. i still suffer from bad body cramps when i sweat a lot, magnesium tablets do help staminade the old squash players swear by it for cramp.

Edit.... Good morning

i dont find the tablets work for me. i spoke to the Doc about it, He reckons for the magnesium to get into the blood stream and into the muscles it needs sugar to get into the blood stream.

its why those sugar free energy drinks are a joke because nothing can happen unless sugar is there to get all those electrolytes into the bloodstream
