Been around for a while now and that single fin action in the day was fantastic.
Surfing off the tail and a toes over the nose all on a shortboard and they did it at pipe My first board was a yellow single fin flyer from around that era $10 bucks, one of the best presents I ever received.
One thing that stands out is the thickness of the boards and the speed they generated[}:)]

Those 70's single fins were fantastic (I've never ridden a "bonzer"!!)......if anyone saw "Pipeline 40" on Sunday (Channel 9) there was Lopez at the Pipe.....the "Pipe Master"......single fin & killing it......

My Personal Post "1111" wasn't wasted on The Bonzer !!

Now 1112....

Mac & Doggie,

I put those FG5 Fins (inside foil, extra toe in) into the Yellow/Orange 7'10 Dream Machine by Bob McT.... Worked way better than I thought it would!! I was nearing the point of whacking them (FG5's) on eBay. They are a good fin, but I never loved them. But I might have found a semi-permanent home for them on head high waves. Overhead+ I would always swap them for AM's, GAM / Al Merrick Template.

Anyway, the alignments between Front FG5's & GXQ Rears didn't look perfect. But in reality, I accidently stumbled upon the stagger alignment of the 4 front bonzer fins!

And I've been loving the Combo so much, it inspired this post!!

Mac,

Whiskey make you frisky
Brandy makes you randy
Rum makes you...... Fight !!

If you won't fight on rum, you won't fight on anything!!

Actually, from the famous Aussie Movie...
Rum makes you come...

The only news I read today coming out of Mexico was a Canadian female was attacked by a shark and lost one arm and serious bites to her legs while swimming.

Hey Doggie,
The SB forum is usually dead isn't ?? Besides, most of those guys only think about Thrusters. Their quiver collection can be as follows;

5'10 x 18 x 2"1/4
5'11 x 18"1/4 x 2"1/4
etc
StepUp Gun 6'6 x 18"1/4 x 2"3/8
Big Gun 6'9

Step it up to my Dream Machine....
7'10 x 21 x 3 (Bobby lied, it measures 21 not 21"1/2). Wave count goes through the roof. Get wide ones, take off early deep, or even scratch into a couple inside ones.

Na not dead just in limbo sumtimes, it does have it's moments. Not much banter unless thommo or kernsey get involved

At least it's not full of dribblers like in the SUP forum

Well yes there is dribble BUT, in the other room its conceded unfunny dribble. I like the dribble here, its funny and nobody gets upset

6'9" x something

There's a pretty cool shop in Manly these days called 6oz Board Store (www.surfnation.com.au) I have a hard time containing the drool when I go in there.

A large Zed Biscuit would be pretty cool - yes I know I have a problem, atleast it's not Drugs.....

They look like fun, whats the drawbacks to this system.

Everytime I jump on a shorter board for a while I find that it is too stop/start and too loose, I cant seem to enjoy it as much as the flow of longboarding. Could be cos I am too used to the longboard still??

Have not really tried single fin shortboards much...could be time to give it a crack I reckon.
