I've read this thread... just saying...

One thing I will recommend... Don't learn to surf on a SUP. Guys who can surf on SUP's are cool, and guys who can't just give SUP a bad name!

The Long Room is probably best suited to Longboarding though. But I still enjoyed your pics BB.

And because there's no "Midlength Room", I sneak midlength talk into this forum too!

A large numbers of suppers up this way are kooks and they have no knowledge of surfing etiquette which is not just annoying but quite dangerous. I do not not have a bad opinion about sups just my own personal journey with them is over for now, I'm focused on prone surfing right now. I will however surf whatever suits at the time and can actually see myself getting bck onto sups but maybe when I get bored or older and the body's staring to give.

Look on the bright side, the best we can manage is a hang ten or a hang five.

he's now good for a hang one.

Byron seems to be the place for fin chop, they get a lot of surf injuries at the hospital , makes me cringe just thinking about it . doggie would be devastated lol

your not exactly a spring chicken yourself there doggie.

however saying that. there are plenty of old crew how rip the bags on the goldie anyway. why does surfing have to be about how old you are?

i'll tell you why, its those stupid kiddie surf mags that's why. most of the content makes those mags barely fit enough for toilet paper.

then again i've heard why are you on a sup, your still surfing too good for that- arrrh their words not mine.

but really every surfer of every craft should have a crack at down winding. picture this- fast moving ocean swells a lot quicker than a surf break. its never below waist height even when the surf is tiny. strong winds at your back and you are out there in the raw elements pitting your skills, fitness and nerve against seas that moving in a direction but there is side elements coming at you too,it can be really wild. its not like some kind of snappersque surf break all smoothed out.

and you don't need thousands of dollars on 4 kite setups and sails etc

It was ment as a bit of a joke LL, I didnt post it in the SUP forum as I dont SUP as you have pointed out in the past, but in LBs and its was part of a lighthearted jab at the forums in general. It wasnt about just age, kooks and noobs got a mention as well...
Im not even going comment on the rest of your rant because as usual its a knee jerk SUP reaction to a funny comment in a completly diff forum to where you normally hang out.

NOT A RANT BUT ACTUAL FACT

simondo, i honestly believe if short boarders and other knew how good it is they would be kicking them selfs.

now i mean down winding and sup preferably, but any craft that can do it.

i'm not suggest they have to surf sups, i'm not suggesting they give up their normal surf craft. hell they would probably find they would be better for it

cheers

ps i'm always willing to show some one how too

I recently brought myself a DW board and I am just starting to really love it. I would love to do a run with LL and learn some skills. The video's that people post of it just do not do it justice. I will always prefer surfing I think but every afternoon when the NE'er blows I have another toy to play in the ocean. And for me that is gold!
