I think it's possible to get a good allrounder that will cover all your needs - depending on what type of surfer you are of course. I personally dont really surf hard enough or traditionally enough to need an h/p and a log/cruiser and as such I find that my 9.3 Donald Takayama Tuflite In The Pink Longboard is more than suitable for my needs to cover every condition I encounter from 1ft to overhead surf. (suits my needs - and not suggesting it would suit anybody else)
I would suggest that for a better and more versatile surfer though that they get themselves a high performance board like a Mctavish ufo of similar and perhaps a 9.6 to 10.0 Mctavish Noosa 66 or other similar outstanding classic Mctavish longboard.
Good post billboard but I think we need to understand one thing here.
Your a lightweight compared to us buffed guys like vanders and I

You can ride anything that will float you from 60 to 12 foot.
I believe for the bigger guy,you need two or three boards in your quiver.
Depending on how you want to approach your surfing.I want to smack the lip when on offer,so HP for the right conditions.I want an allrouder for fuller days.I want a log for the small fat arse days. That should have all the bases covered, unless you want to whack a paddle in arm

Vanders you have just picked up a VERY nice all rounder,go a log mate but keep it 9.6 in length, sure you have a 10 foot redline BUT hell its a beast at that length and very hard to fit into a wave imho, very hard work.
