At a month shy of 55, I reckon I fully qualify for the "Older Blokes" club.
Just good to get out and find some new stuff.

Could have put this in Interesting threads, but I sure someone will have a clip they like from Woodstock.

This is what the bands were paid, the interesting thing for me was that Santana were so far down the list $750.

I thought Santana were a standout at Woodstock but I have very poor musical appreciation skills.

So I went back and looked at a few clips and I still think they were pretty good, but there was one thing that I noticed after all these years that I had never noticed before, Angus Young plays a lot like the way Carlos Santana was playing at Woodstock, right down to the type of guitar he used.

Has Angus ever mentioned that Carlos was an inspiration?

I'll try to find that clip again.

At the 2 minute mark

Saw Richard at the Recital Centre in Melbourne about a month ago - less hair, more gut, but excellent show.
Still wearing black t shirt and sunnies.
The crowd were underwhelming in their support - think there were a lot of subscribers who weren't sure what they had come to see.
Saw him so many times in 70's, 80's. dives like the FerntreeGully Hotel, Village Green, maybe the Manly Pacific.
A hero.

Yeah that is interesting mate & probably still a lot of money for back then, especially considering a lot of punters didn't pay haha. I think the Woodstock bands got a big kick into legendary status considering '69 Woodstock is easily the most famous gig of all time. Santana's pay back then would reflect their status at that time, awesome band for sure mate. Great lineup all round & would have loved to have been there tripping & stoned with the rest of the crowd

I'm guessing the similariities you find between Carlos & Angus are the Gibson SG & holding it higher to the chest, kinda old school. People generally set up their guitar straps a lot longer these days, especially through the 90's people liked to go as low as possible

Yeah so many great performances, of course Hendrix rocked & I'm tempted to post Joe Cocker (great voice) but gonna go with another another great voice, Grace of Jefferson Airplane, these guys played in the morning apparently which is generally harder from my pov...but boy, although timing is a little off & a few mistakes are made. There is no denying the power of these guys performance & its funny coz Grace starts out by saying "ok you've seen the heavy groups, now for morning maniac music" LOL...then belts it out...cheers obct, great topic of disscussion

I'm still trying to work out if the kid on the right's got punters eyes (one each way) or he's just keeping his eye on the missing 4th member of the quartet
