Nah just saying for hp longboard a tri is looser than quad ,big wave surfers don't want loose boards sp they go quads so why go quads on a long board as well unless your surfing big down the line waves??

I definitely found the quad harder to turn but have seen others throw them around like no ones business.

I did notice that when I got my feet right over fins and the board was in the right part of the wave it was good but I found it hard to get this right all the time - tend to surf a bit further forward.

Way too much emphasis on fins boys.

^ LOL

...I've never tried quads on a longboard. I love them on low rockered fat assed shorties in fat chunky dead sectiony waves. But prefer thrusters in suckier, steeper waves to pivot in the pocket better. Need more drive, I up the fin surface area. Waves I may benefit going quad on a HP longboard, I most likely won't be on a longboard.

Sometimes I'll do a layback into the pocket after I've eaten to much
and need some coins for another beer.

Easily done with wide tail, the right vee, and big and little fins.
But does depend on the waves you usually ride.
Longboards with narrow short board tails looks a bit boring sometimes.
