I was not going to comment on the NRL until 2015 but just wanted to ask Mac what its like to support a team whose co-captians are such great pillars of the community? One gets done for poohing everywhere and the other for pissing everywhere - no wonder they are struggling on the sponsorship front!!!!

Ted just look at the drop in home game numbers, the club has clearly dropped its game and has done for too long, people are sick of poor team form, directors with dodgy dealings (in the past ) and over priced tickets.

Yep I'm a Bronco's fan

Yep, it's a joke! There must be a way to make it fairer.... Oh, and poor Manly .

PREMIERS South Sydney are the biggest losers in an NRL draw released on Monday that again highlighted the lack of fairness in the competition structure over 26 weeks.

The Rabbitohs have been dealt a shocker with no byes before the three State of Origin games and 13 matches against their top-eight rivals from last season.

Other clubs, the Newcastle Knights, Raiders, Warriors, Titans and Wests Tigers have only 11 games against top-eight teams from last season.

The Knights are drawn to play last year’s top-eight clubs the Roosters, Storm, Bulldogs, Rabbitohs and Manly only once in 26 rounds while other clubs play them twice.
The Knights have a softer draw than any other team on 2014 form. They play all the weaker 2014 teams twice but the best sides just once. They play only one top-eight side from last season in the first seven rounds of the competition, giving comeback coach Rick Stone the chance to get a flying start.

The Raiders, Warriors, Titans and Wests Tigers also get a soft draw with only 11 games all year against 2014 semi-finalists.

At the same time the Eels have 14 games against top-eight opposition.

The draw is also affected by teams playing other teams twice within a month. In the first 10 rounds, the Manly Sea Eagles play the Storm twice, the Bulldogs twice and the Panthers twice.

Stupid headline by by a biased reporter

Why does everyone moan so much? How many of the top 8 from 2014 will be in the top 8 in 2015? In most comps you need to play every team twice anyway. And if you want to be the best team going around then you have to beat everyone anyway.

You'd think in the first half of the season they'd play each team once and then again in the second half, some teams don't hit form till a bit later in the year so to play a couple of the top sides twice in the early stages is definitely a disadvantage for them imo

I agree - its an absolute disgrace that you can play a team twice in 6 weeks before playing a team you have not yet played. Clearly its the TV networks running the game at the expense of the integrity of the game - those NRL chiefs need to stand up to them for the good of the game. Yes a TV deal has been done - but why did they let it happen that way? Surely the integrity of the game should be more important than anything else. Its good enough in the all the football leagues in the rest of the world.

Ted, your two comments, minutes apart, seem to contradict each other. Is it possible that when it comes to the cricket and footy threads you are mainly here for a laugh and a sh!tstir? (Okay, I suppose we all are.)
