Seems everyone is getting new boards at the moment and I was feeling left out. So I took Tux's advice and brought a new stick last night. Not seen it myself. A mate went and checked it out for me and made the decision for me. Picking it up in Perf on Friday before I head down south for the weekend. Stoked. Anyway no pics as of yet. But will post some when I see it. No need to borrow a board now Mick - thanks anyway for the kind offer.

I have been hunting for about 6 months for a decent second hand one from Mitchel. Hard to come by. Most people like to keep them. I tried my hardest in August to get one off a bloke when I was in Indo. I bid through the roof for it and still he would not part ways. I brought this sight unseen - had a trusted mate run his eye over it. Stoked. Will give you a run down once its been christened. The first thing my mate commented on was the heavy glass job - this excited me as I love board made to last

The thought might have crossed my mind Been trying to replace my old 6'10 for a while now. Stoked to get one of these. Should
last me a while. Still not comfortable making myself a board for the more serious days So buying one is the only option.

SP I picked her up this evening for the first time - fell in love within seconds. The outline is amazing. A couple of dings on her - probably 8.5/10 re condition but she is absolutely lovely. Will post some pics tom if I get a chance. Did not bring the camera away though so they might not be much chop. It has a lovely rolled deck, is super thin through the tail with a really hard edge and a huge concave underneath. Its clear she is built for speed. Can not wait to get her out in some juice.

Yes indeed Pup - she is a ripper. Will share some pics of her when I am back to base. Just had a phone call to tell me that my quiver is now essentially complete - board that was ordered a few months back has finally arrived at home. So when I get home I will have two new boards - Joy !! !! Looks like I will not need another board for a while - well that is including the 7'6" in production in the shed as we speak - which will be the final addition (for now).

Is that the nano? Did you see the new Vader they just released?

Yes its the Nano. I had some problems with my Potatonator and the lovely people at firewire replaced it for me and let me migrate to the Nano. Had to wait a few months for it but after this mornings session it was worth the wait. I thought about getting a Vader but not a fan of that board build - I prefer the FSTs so was happy to go with the Nano.

First impressions is I went a size to big. They paddle unbelievably well give the foam distribution in the front half of the board. I found the sweet spot is a lot smaller than recent boards I have had - you really need to plant your back foot a long way back to get the most out of it as there is a truckload of foam back there and if you are too far forward you don't get as much drive - as it feels like you are pushing too much foam. It goes like a bloody rocket when you get those feet in the right place though. I spent 3 hrs out in the water in 2-3ft peaky beachies - so not a lot of waves where I could link several turns together but lots of opportunity to wind it up and smash it. Very impressed with it. The early signs are its a real winner. Especially on the bigger ones - it just explodes out of your first turn.

6'2". Yes it was nice of them. But they really had no choice I think. A shame as I loved the previous board. What was most frustrating though was I did not have that board to take to Indo twice or WA this last week. So I have been without a fav shortie for a while now which has been frustrating as all hell to be honest. Never mind all is forgiven now. If I had known it was going to take so long I would have made other arrangements.
