I always look at the pics on my phone so that I can zoom in on the pics which I can't do on the pc.
Can see those dents better on the phone. I had a Surftech Rusty big cat that had a nice dent going across it but looking at it I could tell it was made by something banging into it...as in something in a garage falling on it...this was of less concern than a surfing induced crease.
Looking at the pics I would say that those depressions and the couple of punctures look like that board has been poorly postioned in their garage and copped a pounding as a result. Was their garage/shed a mess? I would have laboured the points about the damage and offered half the asking price if you still wanted to take a chance and if not put the board down and backed away.
My mate who is the King of Gumtree is an absolute expert at sniffing at bargains sometimes gets stooged by sellers that have wax covering undisclosed stuff.
A first red flag to me about a boards true condition is wax on the deck that literally covers the rails like on that Tak and wax all over the bottom. This indicates the owner either is a newb or doesn't care about the board.
Most of the used boards I buy are from my local surfshop. Hands on and under the arm test.
All good if you got an ithingy latest or Samsung Galaxy Gazillion.
Me, I got an $80 Coles special, did you not see the awesome resolution of me Torq board photos?
Zoom is not a feature I posses much of. Hence the myriad of questions.
I actually got quite pissy with him but stopped short of giving him a spray because his kid where there. Even told him before leaving how far I had to roll.
Oh well, nothing ventured, nothing gained. I had a couple of wins which will see me clear to fix my car.
Just have to keep sniffing around and bide my time, and stop torturing myself looking at the surf reports and how good it's been at different spots.
Cheers CW and if your mate happens to sniff out something amazing over my way I'd love a heads up.
