Mr 62mac, I was a long time lurker before signing up on Seabreeze. I recall Mr Supanimal couldn't decide if he was a longboarder, short boarder, stand up paddle boarder or an OC1 person. The term 'Arthur or Martha' springs to mind. I must say, a rather confused individual. Great to see he enjoys the ocean and inland waterways I say.

Maybe not styling like the skoda but the mondeo is going pretty good so far. Easily fits the UFO inside with plenty of room to spare. Like them turbo diesels too.

OK, had the wagon for a few days now.

The only bad point is that the passenger front headrest is not removable (like the mazda3) so the board is balancing on the headrest when inside.

The good points:
- it easily fits longboards on roof and inside
- are fuel economy IS excellent,
- motor is reasonably grunty for a family wagon,
- I am told that all the panels are all galvanised, good for salty environments

Had a good day today in small waves, paddling power is much better. Popups are getting there. Caught this very small wave, son could not believe I got on it and went so far. Amazing how small a wave you can take on a LB if you get up to speed.

Ready for my next lesson from the best teacher on the sunny coast.

hey riverider, do you lay the back seat forward and the front seat back? When I do this the board still rests on the headrest and slides towards the driver slowly.

Lay the front seat back, then stick the nose or tail of the board in the passenger foot well, I've had a 10' in my car with a few inches to spare.

It is good, tail in the footwell, just have to watch the fin against the glovebox, and a towel will fix that. Leaves 2 seats free in the back that way too. Cheers riverider.

Why muck around - get a Landcruiser covers every base - reckon i could lay a 12'down in mine.

Yes my Mazda 3 fits the board in as well, but I would not call it a good surf wagon. I drive over an hour to go surfing and the mondeo is good. I do like Toyota's though. Close friend has a rav 4, that's good too.

Missus has a 2005 Acsent that fits my 7 foot gun easily in the back with the rear seats down. So I have no problem believing you can get a 9 footer in
